No, I have not tried that. I met a man on the trail one time that was giving it to his horse and he said it tasted nasty. IF it has any bad taste whatsoever Jake will not eat. That is why he lost so much last fall when he got bronchitis. Trying to put the Trihist and the antibiotics in his feed he just would not eat. We doctored his feed so many different ways it was crazy. Finally got him to eat it by adding rasberry jello powder in the food.
I ride what I've got . . . since I've got a sweetheart deal with Gracie . . . I lease her for a nominal fee and pay her shoeing and buy her supplements. My trainer has put her in her will! so I will take care of her if anything ever happens to my trainer. She's a little on the slow side but in every other way she is perfect, and as everybody at the barn says she isn't near as slow with me as with everybody else. She really puts out the extra effort when I ask her. And actually when we get to the hunting field or a show she is a little snorty and above herself, which is perfect - makes her show to advantage.
But oddly enough there are still some people who are afraid of her . . . can't imagine why, I've never met a horse with more good will towards men.
What time is your appointment?
I need to go get the horse saddled for his 30 minute ride:\
If you're gone before I get back, I will be thinking of you, and hoping the outcome of the visit gives you peace one way or the other.

The appt's not till 2:30 our time... your day will be over by the time I get back!
Have a good, short ride. Hope you find Harley sound.
Thanks....
No, only a few 4 wheelers and a group of riders. The trails are all fire service roads, great for gaited horses. You can rack on forever.
I am not sure I want to find that out. Bikers are scary enough, funny the ATV's don't seem to bother them as much as bikes do.
I gave Red Cell to my old dog, and she loved it. It looked like blood. I don't know if the horse stuff looks the same or whether it would taste good to 'em or not.
Never been present at a horse-kayak encounter from either side, but I can't imagine that it would look normal to a horse . . . especially if the kayakers were waving their paddles around and yelling. . .
Wish I could find a T-shirt I saw years ago -- three cartoon horses standing at a fence with their ears on alert -- first horse: 'What's that?' second horse: 'I dunno.' third horse: 'LET'S SPOOK!'
I've never actually had to ride near either ATVs or motorcycles, but I think people in kayaks would be a challenge for my A-Rab horse's composure... they look like enormous brightly colored bugs of some kind :~)
ROFLOL:)

It does look like very dark blood - almost black. It has a sort of musty/bitter taste, I wouldn't call it outright nasty (but then I like port wine and single malt scotch). Gracie scarfs it down, she'll drink it right out of the bottle before you can get it onto the feed. But she's not a picky eater.
At least with the ATV's they stop and turn off their motors and bikers stop and pull off the trail. How do you stop a kayak and pull to the shore?
The yelling might be the only thing that would help. I know when we cross hikers and bikers on trail, the first few times, if the biker will just talk... say "hello"... the horse knows it's just a person and will ~usually~ relax.
I was thinking more like the Lochness Monster!
Jake won't even eat food topped with molassas he prefers his grain straight up! I might buy a small bottle and try it, but I doubt he would eat it. He is not a picky eater just does not like anything on his food. The Calf Manna has an Anise smell to it and he really likes it.
Wow! That is one "nipped out" cat!
Well, if I had to wait for approval on a morgage from my bank, I'm afraid my animals would long be gone before they approved it. Talk about slow. Took me almost 30 minutes just to make a deposit awhile ago.
Tell her no the next time. Tell her to come over right now before she loses her nerve and starts thinking about it.
She wants to do it so bad though:')
I saw something the other day...BRB
