Yes, the other leg also seems a little off, just not as pronounced. I'm really going to try to get Bob to lock them up for a bit or cut down the paddock size for a couple of weeks so he can't get to running and playing. Their paddock is 24X48 but I'm pretty sure it will be very easy to cut it to 24X24 with just a couple of spare panels.
If they both are bowing I wouldn't think he had a fracture. He looks extremely comfortable too:')
I thought the other one looked a bit bowed too, and that is most common with contracted tendons, both being bowed a bit. And all three of the foals I've seen with it, never acted lame or like it hurt. So who knows.
Just and FYI, the stall size that the 2 horses I've seen recover from this in were 12 X12...the vets really stressed, NO exercise. Tha'ts what makes it soooo difficult for the humans watching:)...seems cruel. 24X24 may be small enough, I don't know.

He was stretching his back leg out a lot when I was out last, and picking up and curling the front leg so it really does sound like it's his tendons. A very big relief.
Okay, that's doable though. Close down the foaling stall and it's 12X12 and we can make the paddock with the water trough 12X12 too. He's so big (as is mom) that he wouldn't be able to get up much steam. I'll get a picture of the size and see what you think.
That baby is just darling! And I can't believe you cleaned all that copper. It looks great.
I sent an email to that bratty kid's barn, with a link to the garbage she's posting. Since she's advertising their barn on a public website, I thought they should see how she's representing them. Also the fact that she's insulting numerous adults, then has her name and location posted, she could be putting herself in danger.
Huh - I don't know better... I'd be calling a vet out to advise for sure, but you already know that about me. :~|
I'd probably have a vet out too to make sure I'm heading in the right direction...I was just trying to give her peace of mind that if it's contracted tendons, it is fixable very easily.

I'm anxious to hear what the kid's barn says. She really is a nasty little child :)
:) I just talked to Bab. He says he's not been feeding the mare heavy because he didn't want her to get fat while pregnant (because she's so big as is) but if it will make me feel better, he'll cut down the paddock and stall. I'll ask him to call Bryan too, just to get his opinion. Bryan was the vet that saw him at 6hours old.
Bab = Bob, of course :)
OK - keep us posted. Hoping for the best, you'll get him straightened out :~)
I've posted new pics of my girls on horse.com in case ya'll are interested.

When I get more time, I'll post some more on here...
Sam's stall is half the size it was and his paddock is 1/4 the size. And I got to play with him for awhile. He's really a friendly little thing and momma doesn't mind as long as it's just Bob and I. We had worried a little about how she would be but she's fine with those of us she knows.
Thanks for the link - going there now.
You watching the eclipe tonight? Looks like you will have the best view.
haven't heard anything from the brats barn but she's disappeared off the site and there are several people raking her over the coals. She's always been quick to post a sarcastic rebuttal so maybe someone has put a stop to her nonsense. We'll have to wait and see....
Ok, ya'll gotta read through this one:
