EXACTLY! Same for Notre Dame!
Yes, letting the back up QBs play call really does, lol...
The big mistake Oklahoma made was scoring a touchdown on the interception thrown by the Boise State quarterback on the first play from scrimmage after Oklahoma tied the game. The OU defense took just a few seconds off the clock and had to kick off and give the ball right back to the Boise State offense with almost a minute left. It would have been smarter to run towards the middle of the field and take a knee before getting into the end zone. That way the OU offense could have burned off time from the clock and forced Boise State to burn time outs before kicking a field goal at extra point range with time running out in regulation.
Baloney, that's precisely what it was designed for. You want to find out who's the best? Let the best teams with the best records play each other and see who wins. If ease of schedule is as big a factor as they say it is, then the big football schools have nothing to worry about, right?
Can't recall the final minutes because viewing fatigue started to set in but it was literally a match for match in OT. Neither team could stop the other from returning and not for a lack of trying.
Yep!
OU got three shots at the 3 point play and converted on the third try. Boise has about a minute and a half to score and win the game. The QB throws a bad interception and OU runs it in for a TD. OU is up seven. Boise gets the ball back with a minute to play. Nice pass play from their own 22 to midfield. From there Boise struggles. On 4th and a bunch with about 15 secs left. Boise runs the hook and lateral with the lateral guy running from across the field. He goes in for the score. The games tied and goes to OT.
First play OU runs the ball. A big hole opens up and OU scores from the 25. It looks too easy. Boise gets their shot. They struggle just to make first downs. They almost fumble on 3rd and goal, but the play is reviewd and the knee was down. On 4th and goal, the season is on the line. The QB goes in motion and the ball is snapped to another player who throws it to the TE for a TD. The Boise coach decides to go for 2 and the win. OU calls a couple of timeouts to get the formation. All the WR's are stacked to the right. The QB fakes a throw with the ball in the other hand. It's the Statue of Liberty play. The RB takes the ball to run it in on the left side for the win. WOW!!!!!!!
BYU was national champion in 1985? I could've sworn OUr team was. Hunh.
Second best ending, the best will always be
"THE PLAY" ( for the younger set, Cal beats Stanford, November, 1982)
Correct. That's what makes NCAA basketball so great- the underdogs have a chance at winning it all.
He's only a sophomore. He should be thinking about school.
* See earlier comment: Bob Stoops was simply "outcoached."
Lol!
The gators didn't play well this year but i don't think that means that they can't.
Not only that, he was outclassed.
Oops. 1984.
Good thing Ian didn't have a boyfriend. That would have pretty much taken away the celebration.
That's silly. Anytime you have a chance to score, you score. There are no guarantees that you can get the ball into the end zone anytime you want, or that you can kick a field goal every time you try.
The big schools have nothing to fear because most the times they play small schools they beat them. They don't schedule them because playing cupcake teams too often turns your schedule into crap and makes it impossible to become top ranked.

Look at that schedule. They did a great job killing bad teams and an awesome job beating middle-ranked teams. Their ranking is appropriate. But be honest and don't pretend that they're the absolute bar none best in the land.
Pretending that beating La Tech by 41 points is more significant than beating Auburn, USC, or some other top player by a few points is just crazy.
