A bit thin-skinned, are we? If God thinks it's mocking, He'll do something about it. You needn't worry your little headache about it.

Thanks...I did a search and nothing came up...you saw this and obviously thought the same thing as me...WTF? Can you explain this? Not your fault...it's the same prob I brought up on another thread. If you search "Google" and then search (By Title (Date)) you get the right results.
The default is (By Title (Score)), which gets you nothing.

We do this every year, with every Holiday, and every year, with every Holiday, it turns out to be a big, fat to-do about nothing.

Maybe they are celebrating the South Park "Woodland Critters" episode.

I think we Christians need to sort of take a chill-pill when it comes to the birth of Christ and how others observe it.
Everyone knows that Christ wasn't born on December 25th. If the Catholic Church was really wanted to everyone to observe the birth the Christ, they should have set it for around the 1st the October when he was really born.
It's kind of hard to get non-believers to acknowledge the birth the Christ when we Christians cannot even do it on the right day.
There may be a purpose to obscure the date of the birth, maybe to make Easter more important because in the bible even the story of the Nativity contains hints about the crucification with the wisemen and their gifts.

The two kangaroos are supposed to be Mary and Joseph with Jesus being the little kangaroo in the pouch. That's a real stretch, if you ask me.

Do you realize that neither Yahoo.com, FoxNews.com nor Free Republic acknowledge Christmas?

It's been going on for several days. A different one each day. Here's a link to all of them: http://www.google.com/doodle12.htmlThe sequence is adorable.
Thanks for the link.

Why does it have to?
Christmas means a lot of things to a lot of people...in this case, it's a family making something for someone close to them...a very common sentiment at Christmas.
Google is not a religious organization, but that set of doodles did capture an aspect of Christmas that is still warm and good...doing something sweet for one's loved one, and in a family setting, to boot.
If we make the religious aspect of Christmas a political test of who's ok and try to say none of the other sides of Christmas celebration count, how are we any better than the Taliban?
And I say this as a person who runs a prayer thread pinglist here on FR, and who spent hours posting Christmas prayers, carols and texts.
There was nothing sacriligious in what they showed. They didn't mock or belittle it. They didn't ignore it. There was a celebration of sharing self for one's loved ones, and that's a Christmas value we have had a long time. It's indeed part of what a lot of us do. Is it all that Christmas means? No. But is is a big part.
Did you shop at stores that didn't have a nativity scene in their advertising?
Did you not give gifts to people you cared about, or only gave religious themed gifts?
IMHO, complaining about this is misdirected energy - and can lead, taken too far, to making Christianty a political test, a reverse PC behavior, which is certainly NOT in the mode of American free speech.

I'll take a stab at it.
1. The pouch represents Santa's toy sack.
2. This looks like a traditional family ... possibly even hetero.
3. Humankind may be trying to erase Christmas but the animals know better.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach you,
and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell you
(snip) that God's hand is the life and breath of
every living thing. (Job 12:7-9)
4. The happy Roos are far better than evil elves and Surly Santa commercials we've had to endure all season. Lowes is the worst.

I'd say FR does by allowing Merry Christmas as the breaking news story of the day in its sidebar...as far as graphics...well those are only for the freepathons.

I am sure Google stock will tumble from $455.00 to $1.98 on your curious observation regarding its home page.
