Snopes.com But There's really no way they could know something that hasn't happened yet.
Thanks for the reminder.
Snopes is partisan Left. And they admit that they influence whether a "rumor" is true or false by their synopsis/claim framing statement.
Additionally, they are willing to make excuses and allowances. For example, they are still unwilling to call Hillary a liar in saying that she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary. Without any evidence to the contrary (proof that young Hillary WAS told this deliberate lie by her mother) they claim that it is possible that her mom originated the lie. So much points the other way on this one.
Also things like the Target Vietnam Memorial and other protest letters did have origins in fact and weaselly apologies even though Snopes tries to label the whole thing a misunderstanding and unfair slam on Target.
So many examples. It isn't a very good site. Much of the apolitical urban legend research appears to be cribbed from Jan Brunvand's excellent books on urban rumors.
Snopes is OK for trivial nonsense but is in no way the end all authority.
I second dumping this moron.
lol!
Based on the wording of his comment, I get the feeling that he was just responding to a question asking if he would be willing to do a gay scene.
I don't really get the impression that he is actively pushing producers to make Bond gay (ack!). If he is, he is probably just trying to find a way to get out of his contract for whatever reason (because seriously.... gay Bond?!)
It would explain why the guy with the gadgets was called "Q".
Oh for God's sake...
Talk about an American lack of irony....
Craig was joking.
He has joked about a gay Bond before on British chat shows and a few interviews, even the stuffy old BBC 'Radio Times' (a famous TV/radio magazine here). He recently joked that he will shave off all body hair and play a double part in the next film as Blofeld as well as Bond, joking he would keep the then needed toupee for Bond as a memento.
Follow this story and you quickly find that it starts with a Canadian gossip website quoting the ubiquitous ' a movie insider'...hmmm....
Perhaps it was/is the dry British humour, but by god aint you lot been suckered....
Richard Burton,Peter O Toole,Ollie Reed and other usually British actors used and still do this type of dry joke to break the monotony of round robin interviews(Craig is STILL promoting CR and will be into January).
Burton used to joke he was Jewish(because of Liz's marriage to Mike Todd) or that his poor Welsh family used to live 'on a dollar a day'(which despite the dollar faut pas,was actually printed by American reporters as true in the 60's) .
A lot of folk here getting het up over a joke.
Slow news day.Non story.Nothing to see.Move along now...
faux pas,not faut pas.
Apologies for my dodgy French.
A search of the big Bond fan forums finds that this story is in fact an old one from the summer.
Craig's remark seems to have come from an interview in June or July where he was asked about how many films he would do,what they would be like, how they would be different.
His remark is tongue in cheek and related to the latter question.
sorry.
