'Sorry, but I think there's a lot more public drunkeness in England than here. I also think they drink more per capita than Americans. And it's not like I've never been stupid drunk and puked my guts out in public when I was younger and less discrete. '
Phrased thus, your point is more coherent. It was your assertion that everyone in England who was not muslim was a hopeless drunk that was wrong. Drinking to excess is probably more common in the UK because pub culture is more acceptable and more central to our society than yours. It is also to do with your government not allowing you the freedom to chose a beer until you are 21.
'Yes, the Muslim population of Dearborne Mich. is higher than most American cities, but there are still more Muslims in England per capita than in the US as a percentage of population.'
Very true, but yours is growing far faster than ours, so neither of us can be complacent and your country seems to be failing to learn from our mistakes and allowing them to cluster in small areas and try to dominate communities.
'Please don't get me wrong, I like, admire and respect England and the English, but it's gone downhill recently and it disturbs me for both England, America and Western civilization as a whole because England is our mother country and has contribuited so much to America and Western civilazation. '
Unfortunately western civilisation as a whole has gone downhill a little recently with it's excessive belief in being PC and a lack of confidence in the inherent 'rightness' of our way of life. We have, i believe reached the turning point however and things are beginning to improve. Britain is slow to respond when challenged, but decisive when it does. I believe we are well-placed to turn things around as only 7.9% of our population are anything other than native anglo-saxon celtic christians so we have a huge silent majority which is becoming more vocal by the day.

Actually, that is a very interesting point about the origin of the disdain for Americans. Hadn't thought of it but it makes perfect sense. For the most part I always loved the idea of Englishness...I think I read every Agatha Christie at least once and currently like in a copy of an English village in Oregon. Something so quaint and interesting ....27 cottages, non absolutely identical, with glorious gardens. All we need now is a murder to solve. LOL
Oops, I meant to say that currently I LIVE in a copy of an English village. Sigh...
"The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans"
I think she's seen too many of those Geiko cavemen commercials.
brilliant!
That's going to get her a lot of dinner invites if she ever comes back to the USA.
Invite me to dinner, botch, and I'll make it more interesting than anything you've ever seen. By the way, give me all your money so you won't look like a hypocritical capitalist, you hypocritical capitalist.
