Okay; it just sounded like there was more animosity than that! I like Paula as well, but I have to use both of these ladies' recipes very sparingly, or I'll have to start wearing the tentlike Big Shirt out over the pants, like they do.

I know what you mean! My husband has heart trouble, so I have to be very careful.

This thread is useless without pics.

I love Paula,
she's the nicest person, and she cooks just like my Mama.

I wish she was on TV when I was living in the south. I would LOVE to go to her restaurant. (Alas, when I lived down there I was just learning how to cook!)

I could never get into Barefoot Contessa either. The ones who seem to have the most fun are the ones I really enjoy. Like Paula Deen and Rachael Ray. Alton Brown is fun to watch because I learn alot from his show. Paula's boys, Jamie and Bobby, have a good show called "Road Tasted" that's fun to watch.
Rachael's show "$40-a-day" is fun to watch because one can learn about different places to dine. In fact Rachael Ray did a show in Rapid City, and I've been to Rapid City often enough, Rachael went to a few places that I have never been to and I'm dying to try out the next time I am in Rapid City.

My mother has made a few of Paula's dishes, and they are to DIE for. Dee-lish. (as Rachael would say LOL)

I love the travel shows. I go around the US often enough that I've picked plenty of BAD places to eat. I always love it when they are in a place that I have been.
I haven't been to Rapid City in about 4 years. I should probably go back. It's just more out of my way than it once was. :)

The only other city I can say that would be "out of the way" for me would be Great Falls. I've only been there once, and I have no real reason to really go there, even for shopping. I spend more time in places like Williston, Minot or to a lesser degree, Billings.
Best place I like to dine in Williston is "Gramma Sharon's". In Minot, I like the "Royal Fork". In Billings I like 4B's, Perkin's, or Red Robin. :)
