Dear Polly,
As soon as I woke up this morning, these scriptures and this prayer came into my mind. The Holy Spirit is leading us in prayer and I have no doubt that this national prayer room pleases the Lord. Jesus ever lives to intercede for us and we are joining Him. I look forward to seeing patterns develop of when and how we are led to pray. I have a lot of liberty with time, and so look forward to being used. What a privilege to pray with you!

Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his arm, whose heart turns away from the LORD. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

"Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose trust is the LORD. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit."

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately corrupt; who can understand it?

"I the LORD search the mind and try the heart, to give to every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings."

Jeremiah 17: 5-10

O Lord, have mercy on us,
each and every one of us
for trusting in our own strong hand
instead of in your hands.

O Lord, you who know all hearts,
soften our hearts,
awaken us to where we have failed,
awaken us to whom it is who gives us our strength,
and teach us to walk in your ways.

Today, O Lord, I send up my prayers
particularly for those who lead our nation.
Be with each and every one of our lawmakers,
those who have to sift through all the voices calling upon them to do this or do that.

Lord, you know what is right.
It is you who determined that there would be leaders to guide and protect the nations,
insuring the safety and justice of the people you entrust to them.

Today, O Lord,
send the light that will pierce through the darkness,
open the hearts of our leaders to their responsibilities
to care for the nation,
strengthen the ones who walk in your light,
soften the hearts of those who need to answer your call,
and teach them the ways of justice, truth, faithfulness.
Remind them that their responsibility to their duties is a holy obligation,
and show them the way they should walk to insure peace, prosperity, and justice,
safety at home,
and how to make our land an example of uprightness to the world.

O Father God, I ask this in your son Jesus our Lord's most holy name,
Amen.

Lord Jesus, I come into Your presence this morning,realizing my own inadeqacy and feeblness.At the same time I recognize Your mighty power and strong arm that holds us securely in the storms we are facing.Thank You dear Father for Your great faithfulness to Your people. Your Word promises that "You will never leave us nor forsake us"...such love You show that goes beyond our sinfulness...

God we give You back today the life we owe You. We are not our own, but have been bought by the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ. May this day all of us in these prayer chambers seek to glorify You in all we do and say. Lord put a guard on our lips, and as we post here, may what we pen bring glory and honor to Your Name. Set a watch O Lord on ,not only our mouths as we talk to others, but as we " type" , Lord, seal us for " thy courts above"... forgive me lord for hastily responding to negativity with regretful words. Because You live, we can face tomorrow. I ask this in the matchless name of Jesus Christ,Risen Savior, and Coming King, Amen.

Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin? The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.

Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed? To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus’ bosom naught but calm is found.

Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they.

Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.

Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours? Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.

It is enough: earth’s struggles soon shall cease, And Jesus call us to Heaven’s perfect peace.

Even though we cannot see the reasons why this happens, teach us to be the light and salt you asked us to be, even when it is difficult.

Amen and Amen.......

The Lord has spoken regarding all our needs.......

Psa 94:17 If you had not helped me, LORD, I would soon have gone to the land of silence.
Psa 94:18 When I felt my feet slipping, you came with your love and kept me steady.
Psa 94:19 And when I was burdened with worries, you comforted me and made me feel secure.
Psa 94:20 But you are opposed to dishonest lawmakers
Psa 94:21 who gang up to murder innocent victims.
Psa 94:22 You, LORD God, are my fortress, that mighty rock where I am safe.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.

Psa 94:22 You, LORD God, are my fortress, that mighty rock where I am safe.

I cannot help but think of the hymn my dear father and mother taught me as a babe, some 65 years ago.

O safe to the Rock that is higher than I, My soul in its conflicts and sorrows would fly;

So sinful, so weary, Thine, Thine, would I be; Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.

Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee,,P> Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.

In the calm of the noontide, in sorrow’s lone hour, In times when temptation casts o'er me its pow'r;

In the tempests of life, on its wide, heaving sea, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.

Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.

How oft in the conflict, when pressed by the foe, I have fled to my refuge and breathed out my woe;

How often, when trials like sea billows roll, Have I hidden in Thee, O Thou Rock of my soul.

Hiding in Thee, hiding in Thee, Thou blest “Rock of Ages,” I’m hiding in Thee.

This may be my favorite hymn and prayer:

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly,
While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high.
Hide me, O my Savior, hide, till the storm of life is past;
Safe into the haven guide; O receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

Wilt Thou not regard my call? Wilt Thou not accept my prayer?
Lo! I sink, I faint, I fall—Lo! on Thee I cast my care;
Reach me out Thy gracious hand! While I of Thy strength receive,
Hoping against hope I stand, dying, and behold, I live.

Thou, O Christ, art all I want, more than all in Thee I find;
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick, and lead the blind.
Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.

Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art, freely let me take of Thee;
Spring Thou up within my heart; rise to all eternity.

Darkness Falls

Darkness falls -
O Lord, be thou my light!
As the storm draws near
Keep me within thy sight.

Be Thou my strength,
Hold up my wavering hand
As the flood grows deep
Across this trembling land.

May thy cross be
A beacon bright as day
To guide my feet
When darkness hides the way.

Thy Mercy is
My only refuge place,
There is no hope
Without thy loving grace.

As midnight falls
With sword and cry and grief,
Only with you
Will my soul find relief.

Psa 51:6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being, and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.

Lord, I pray that your Truth would rise up in our land. I pray for us to demand truth in our own hearts. There is a lie in the land, Lord. Fight against it with your Word.

Psa 14:1 To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good.

Lord, I pray your righteousness would be evident with your people. I pray the Church would be at the Father's business. Let us lift up Jesus in these days.

Establish our hearts and minds in Christ. Mount a guard of your Word over them.

Phi 2:9 Wherefore also God highly exalted him, and gave unto him the name which is above every name;
Phi 2:10 that in the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven and things on earth and things under the earth,
Phi 2:11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Lord, I really want to see this with my eyes. I have seen people rejoicing in huge numbers at a baseball game, shouting, glad......I want to see them do this for You. I pray you will surely turn this nation.

Where is Nehemiah? Bring him forward.
In the name of Jesus.
Amen

Praising the Lord tonight that I still have a roof over my head, food on my table, clothes on my back, oxygen in my lungs, and enough money in my pocket to buy some of the troop Christmas gifts I will be sending to Iraq.

Praying now that His mills that grind exceedingly fine speed it up! TIA

And remember me...I thought I was taking posession of my house in Boise in the beginning of december...but the house comes vacant next week, and everything's been moved up almost 3 weeks.

I am really going crazy with all of this!

The earth belongs unto the Lord,
And all that it contains;
The world that is inhabited,
And all that there remains.
For the foundations thereof
He on the seas did lay,
And He hath it establishèd
Upon the floods to stay.

Who is the man that shall ascend
Into the hill of God?
Or who within His holy place
Shall have a firm abode?
Whose hands are clean, whose heart is pure,
And into vanity
Who hath not lifted up his soul,
Nor sworn deceitfully.

He from th’Eternal shall receive
The blessing him upon,
And righteousness, ev’n from the God
Of his salvation.
This is the generation
That after Him inquire,
O Jacob, who do seek Thy face
With their whole heart’s desire.

Ye gates, lift up your heads on high;
Ye doors, that last for aye,
Be lifted up, that so the King
Of glory enter may.
But who of glory is the King?
The mighty Lord is this;
Ev’n that same Lord, that great in might
And strong in battle is.

Scottish Psalter, 1650

The Haven

When all the darkness of a world gone mad with "me" and "mine"
presses against your heart with its dark futility,
watch the world and see what happens
when self becomes the measure of the truth,
no one way better or worse than another,
with no standard to give it value.
Relativism – a place with no verities.
What type of world is it
when millions of selves become the arbiters of what is right,
of what is holy,
what is worth believing,
each competing,
the child molester no less worthy of admiration
than the hero who rescues the dying,
where killing the sick and old seeming as good a deed as healing,
and children seem a futility of expense.

Listen to that cacophony of competing voices
drowning out a truth they do not want to face,
the fact that without family,
there is an empty hole in life,
where self-loathing shadows over the death of hope,
the fact that chasing sex and intoxication
will never sustain,
that things break,
heros fail,
that isms are imperfect answers for that hole in their lives,
and that no matter how they veil the reality,
their choices are leading them to a nightmare world,
where they try to make shifting desires the center of all,
turning the old granite of truth into quicksand,
unable to sustain a purposeless life.

Listen, and ask yourself,
have we not created the tower of Babel anew,
confusing our hearts, our spirits, our future
in our hubris to say Man, and not God is the center?

Where then, is the firm land
that will let you stand while the chaos grows,
as the center cannot hold,
and things fall apart?

The answer was given to you in the life of a single person
sent here with one purpose,
to bring you home.
Even now, he calls through the bitter waters of modern life,
and offers that transformation
that creates a sanctuary against the storm.
Look upon his cross,
his tomb,
his resurrection and know
one greater than any man
has touched the world,
leaving a cross-shaped beacon pointing the way
to the place where heaven and earth come crashing together,
an island of meaning against the midnight,
bought with blood,
sustained by love.

Laugh at him as old fashioned as you cry against the dark,
or listen to what he has to say,
and find the purpose you were missing.

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way.

This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Dear KAC,
I am already praying for you. I read a comment of yours about moving and that can't be easy, and you took the time to start the prayer room, too.

I love Ps 24 which the Scottish Psalter beautifully records.

Lord I ask you for restorative sleep and rest tonight for your people. You love to Bless us. You are good, and your Mercy endures for ever. I thank you for another day of waiting on you in prayer. Bless my sisters and the work of their hands.

Psa 121:1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?
Psa 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Psa 121:3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.
Psa 121:4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
Psa 121:5 The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade on your right hand.
Psa 121:6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.
Psa 121:7 The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.
Psa 121:8 The LORD will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
