How about picking another former director of the CIA -- George Herbert Walker Bush -- wouldn't that have been a kick!

Does anyone know what this guy's position on the Iraq war is? The fact that he's a former head of CIA is not encouraging - is he in the James Baker/Brent Scowcroft "pragmatist" mold? I certainly hope not.
To: AnotherUnixGeek
Gates hasn't publicly said anything about the Iraq war one way or the other. (Why would he in his current position?)

He's on the Baker commission "studying" the Iraq war. Doesn't sound promising....

I hate to see Gates go.
He has been a pretty decent president at A&M.

The Left has already started to attack him on Wikipedia. If nobody from the right is fighting back, then we deserve it. Anyone can edit over there.
To: Texaggie79
It could have been worse. Bush could have named Coach Francione.

LMAO. Then we would have kicked a field goal in Iraq and ran.

Just what this WOT needs....an Aggie spook....
It's the 12th Imam vs. the 12th Man.....
Maybe we should just nuke ourselves...
To: MaineVoter2002
I assume this is sarcasm.
I could see the first question to North from the Senate panel...
"Mr. North, are you going to tell us the truth this time?"
The next question would be: "Mr. President, can we have your next nominee?
DGMW, I think North is great, but his days as a public servant are long gone.
