Is this the place where someone will say George Bush is the smartest man who ever lived?
ooooooooooooooooooohhhh....
Cheney resigns...., Bush appoints Rice, Rice runs for Pres in '08
*happy* *happy* *happy* *happy* *happy* *happy* *happy* *happy*
I love it....
But, from now on I believe aides should be wary when they hear the president tell someone they've done a heck of a job.
NOT happy, happy, happy! Mr. Cheney has guts and I don't want him to go. We need to leave one or two adults in charge.
Is this the place where someone will say George Bush is the smartest man who ever lived?Or that Rove is a genius?
Rummy thrown to the wolves. Serves no useful purpose. The Dems will be persecuting the Bush Administration for the next two years, anyway. It's about who wins in '08.
Please forgive me .... but this thread is delusional.
Rumsfeld:
Bright side, that "Old Europe" comment that made the French go so crazy.
Dark side, his whole "light footprint" plan overrrided years of Pentagon planning, so he could keep stoking the Star Wars Part Deux, B-2 bomber, etc. boondoggles for his former (still current?) paymasters.
Though I'll say his failure to seal Iraqi borders might be a Bush action.
No, I don't buy it. It's just a sign of weakness. The Dems will not be disarmed by this. This is just appeasement. It won't buy Bush or the Republicans anything. It just frees the Dems to focus on other things.
Rummy, just like Brownie, you did "a heck of a job!"
I think we've learned from Steel's campaign the the blacks WILL NOT break party for anyone. So don't think that having Condi on the ticket will attract any black votes.
The problem with this theory is Gates...it seems a complete one eighty on first blush.
Where is Rove? Tar and feathers come to mind.
Rice has stated over and over and over...this week, that she does not want to run for President...she wants to go back to Stanford. Period.
If Rumsfeld stepping down is a good move, the time to do it was when Bush still had a Republican congress who would approve a suitable replacement.
If anything the Dems will probably see it as surrender.
;)
No point in blaming Rumsfeld. His military operations have been successful. The U.S. public is unwilling to fight a war.
I think Mr. Rumsfeld quit because the Dems would constantly call him over to the Hill to answer stupid questions or otherwise try to browbeat him.
I wouldn't stand for it either.
