They were playing the old Bud jingle ("Here comes the king, here comes the big number one/ Budweiser beer the king is second to none") during introductions...

I'd drinking a Bud tonight as I watch but am cheering for the Tigers.

You were a bit faster getting the thread started. Hopefully the moderator can close my thread.

Anyway, how 'bout that Star Spangled Banner by Trace Adkins!!! Now, THAT'S what I'm talking about. I tuned in a bit late, so I don't know if there were any other performers doing "God Bless America" or some other such songs, but this is the first time this W.S. that I've caught the National Anthem (I heard Anita Baker or someone sang it before Game 2 after John Mellancamp sang his "song").

Well, let's hope for an exciting game!

Baker wasn't into it, she was mediocre. Mellencamp was even worse, and showed up a couple minutes late. He left his backup vocalists waiting for him on the field, sang poorly, and generally shamed himself. So arrogant and childish. Adkins was much better.

Poor timing: a Christmas ornament with a "Yankee plane"...

http://www.nypost.com/seven/10242006/news/regionalnews/foul_fly_bawl_regionalnews_kate_sheehy.htm

>> A new Yankee Christmas ornament sanctioned by Major League Baseball and bearing the team's official logo features a beaming Santa waving - as he pilots a plane.

"My reaction at first was, 'I don't believe it,' " said Midtown lawyer Denis Guerin, who yesterday received glossy literature touting the "Yankees Victory Plane" - "a limited-edition annual holiday treasure" - in the mail.

Guerin shuddered as he recalled the horrific events that unfolded Oct. 11, when Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle was killed after crashing his small plane into an Upper East Side high-rise.
