As it stands right now, and Arkansas DOES indeed get to the SEC Championship game, Auburn will be ineligible. They will not have won their conference.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that. Oklahoma got in the title game after getting blasted by Kansas State in the Big XII title game in 2003, and let's not forget Nebraska going to the Rose Bowl(for the BcS crown, no less) after Colorado annihilated them to win the division and conference and were relegated, along with Oregon, to the Fiesta Bowl.

Glad to see thugball is back at the "U"! It seems like forever since Dennis Erickson was prowling the sidelines while his players, awaiting multi-year NFL contracts, or multi-year prison sentences, were doing their best to make college football look like a gangsta brawl in the hood. The multiple suspensions are meaningless because the Canes could start their second or third stringers and still beat Duke. Suspend them for the rest of the season, or kick them out of school, and maybe Miami could salvage a bit of it's reputation, even if it means a losing season. Of course, that'll never happen, because Donna Shalala, former X42 cabinet member, won't throw anybody overboard, unless she finds out the player or his parents are Republicans...

Because of Oklahoma (and partly at the SEC's insistence), you MUST win your conference crown to be eligible for the BCS title game.

It's out of Shalala's hands.

The ACC has suspended those players. Supposedly they are indefinite.

I didn't know that, but it's a good rule. If you aren't good enough to win your own conference, how can you argue that you're good enough to win the national title?

I'd love to see the ACC suspend them for the season, but since that would guarantee a losing season, and less TV and bowl revenue, they might fold on this.

exactly.

that's one of the few things they've gotten right in their tweaks of the BCS.

Some of the players deserve a season suspension, but some don't.

They need to go player by player.

Thanks - we were flipping between various games Saturday and kept catching just bits of the scene and never heard what determination was made. Do refs have the authority to just end a game if it is out of control?

When it gets that out of control it's more the police have the authority to stop the game. The bigger problem is fans coming onto the field with tensions that high.

I keep reading on the Miami boards that Miami President Donna Shala (and Former Clinton Cabinet member )was down on the field trying to restore Order. That would be a awesome pic to have and I would love to see it if she was out there pulling players off each other lol.

Has anyone seen a pic of this or is this all just some rumor lol

I honestly don't know, but this sounds Clintonian. Unless she has video proof, I'm gonna write this off along with Chelsea's recount of 9-11 that was written for her by Her Heinousness' spinmeisters...

Glad to see thugball is back at the "U"!

And now The "U" stands for "Unranked."

Oh, the irony!!

Join-a-Team, Not-a-Gang Program

The Miami-Dade Police Department and the University of Miami join forces.
Oct. 14, 2006

The Miami Dade Police Department kicked off their annual "Join-a-Team, Not-a-Gang program on Tuesday, October 10th. This program is a cooperative effort, which includes Miami Dade Public Schools, the University of Miami Athletic Department, and Florida Power & Light Company.

The program gives out a "Most Improved Student Award". Each hard working student will get a chance to visit a University of Miami football practice, a tour of athletic facilities, and a chance to meet the University of Miami football coaches and student-athletes.

Students are selected by their school and selection is based on improvement in academics, behavior, and attendance. The visits take place once a week and continue through football season. Winners and a D.A.R.E. officer from each school will be visiting the school once a week throughout the football season.

This Saturday, the Miami Dade Police Department will bring about 700 children to the Miami vs. FIU football game as part of the program.

Larry "The Zombie" Coker is getting blamed for this, but the simple fact is Miami just isn't that good, and I honestly think that trash talk by the "U"nranked players is what got FIU so riled up in the first place. The one clown using his helmet as a weapon should be charged with assault.

Somehow I knew bringing on Shalala would mean the death of Miami's dominance in football.

He probably was a team captain.

LOL well let me be clear. I have seen no statements of hers saying she did that. Just you know wild accounts of supposed eyewitness on internet Fan boards lol.

I just think that would be funny to see if that happen.
