He easily could have taken an eye out. I don't like it when offensive linemen chop block but I do hope some take a shot at this a-hole the next time he plays.
There goes that career.
This is not going to be a fun week in Nashville. On top of the lossing streak, the Titans now have the Haynesworth situation to deal with. Whatever the league does won't be as grim as what Jeff Fisher will do to him. My respect for Fisher went way up yesterday. I'd love to be a fly on the wall for the Fisher/Haynesworth chat.
Andre Gurode has grounds for legal action if he so chooses. Whether Gurode will do it is another matter. A player suing another for what was done in a sporting event is a very rare thing, if it has been done at all. However, this could be a rare exception. I've seen some cheap shots given, but this is one of the most blatant acts ever. I'm just glad that Gurode's eye wasn't hurt because it could have been involved. A minimum four game suspension coupled with a very stiff fine is coming. I don't look for anything less. And then Fisher will have his say. That's something not to be wished for your worst enemy.
I think we got a glimpse of that when Haynesworth said, "..I disgraced my team...I have respect for the league..." I agree with you about Fisher. He's handled this as well as any fan of his team or opponent would hope.
Contrition from a professional sports player? That's a first...
