Not pedophilia with a 17 year old.
Depends on which state (not sure what the age in her state is) but in most states, there are special laws that apply if the one of the people involved is a teacher that wouldn't apply to anyone else.

"There are sentencing guidlines. 100 lb women will be on one end, 200 lb men will be on the other."
I don't know any state that has sentencing guidelines that allow gender to be used in sentencing. Probably because it would be unconstitutional to do so.

Why don't the courts just come on out and officially declare that there are a different set of laws for women. They will, if you are in so called "family" court! The women get away with a LOT! It's not even close to fair.

Not unless you want to wear an ankle monitor, be fired and be under house arrest. And I'm guessing that the 2nd time you get caught the judge would slap you in the pokey.

There are sentencing guidlines. 100 lb women will be on one end, 200 lb men will be on the other. Them's the breaks.
What about 100 lb. men and 200 lb women? Your argument is weak and your distinctions are grossly ambiguous.

That is true, but it is not pedophilia. Its statutory rape.

What happens when a jealous husband caps a kid who slept with his wife, or both of them?
Or a young man offs himself over his lost love when she dumps him?
The double standard is sickening, in spite of the many fantasies I had for my good looking teachers as a young man.
I have a solution, only hire ugly teachers.
Then the law will be equally applied.

But you forget, Pissy....this woman (and I use that term loosely) was in a position of authority, so her size doesn't really matter. Damage is relative...some people are more emotionally sensitive than others...yes, I believe boys can be damaged.
And what about the emotional damage she's done to her children and husband. Don't you think they'll be scarred by this?
Some judge out there somewhere has to take a gutsy stand on this and make an example out of these perverts that this type of sick behavior WON'T EVER be tolerated whether they're males OR females! They all belong behind bars, not in our schools! So there! :P

Not gender per se. Threat. 100lb women pose little threat of coercive action of any kind.
If you want to fight for the femninist ideal of uniform sentencing, be my guest.

Likewise, there are age-of-consent laws in some states that apply even if the minor victim is still post-pubescent. But, as mentioned, those offenses are not technically "pedophilia".

Was just the teacher/student part of this illegal?
This is pretty common in most states. In many states, if she had not been his teacher, then there wouldn't have been charges.

"If this was a 29-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, I would be inclined to order some incarceration," noted 3rd District Judge Mark Kouris during sentencing yesterday for Cameo Patch.... He then asked her how she felt about older men...

She got fired. She out of the school. The emotional scarring of a 17 yo male getting a BJ is about nil. The damage to here family is not a crime, though its bad news.
I assume you want my frank responses instead of the PC claptrap.

Apparently not. But I'm sure they allow supervised visits while under house arrest, ao all is not lost. LOL
