This event argues against the notion that marijuana is not habit forming.

Anecdotal evidence argues nothing.

Pot does not change a person's beliefs.

Wanna bet? Let's say you don't believe in eating Cheetos. Then you smoke...

Was that during or after Cindy Sheehan's sleep-over at his place?

Then he started smoking it again and I believe it contributes to him being a derelict and misfit.

Care to compare net worths with that derelict?

Smoking pot doesn't make you not know what you are doing. It makes you not care.

Well, I just googled and read a little more than I wanted to know about psilocybin 'shrooms.

Apparently, some people with cluster headaches, vascular headaches and migraines are now swearing by psilocybin and LSD treatments, lol. The 'shrooms are legal in Amsterdam and for medicinal purposes, some places in the UK.

I don't know if that includes the British Virgin Islands, where they have a mushroom tea party at one bar every full moon. It's illegal to sell the tea, so they give it away. I've heard about tourists falling down the hillsides behind Bomba's Shack while going out looking for more 'shrooms there.

Anyway, because of all this interest, there are now mail-order growing and indoor cultivation kits available, so no messy cow-tipping to get at them. Sales and possession of the psilocybin spores themselves are not illegal, *according* to the websites.

"When I attended college, (Auburn University aka The Cow College), a couple of our best football players were caught walking around pastures picking mushrooms. I always giggled picturing them spending hours in a field of cowpies searching for the rarely present shroom."

When I was in college we went to a Coleman dairy farm a couple of times to pick shrooms and they were everywhere you looked. The field would be full of people just before sunrise out there with big plastic bags and flashlights. You could be in and out with a bread bag full of nice shrooms in just a few minutes. You could get out quicker if you didn't leave a few of the bigger ones that were opening and dropping their spores, but proper shroom picking etiquette required that you left a few in every spot where you found them to make sure enough spores would drop to keep the field going. The folklore at least was that the bigger ones weren't any more powerful than the smaller ones anyway so you'd have to consume a bigger portion to get the desired effect. They were pretty nasty tasting. We'd wash them and then boil 'em, mash 'em, strain out the pulp and mix a lot of grape Koolaid mix and sugar with the remaining purple/black "tea." You didn't want to do that more than a couple of times. That was twenty years ago and I gag thinking about it.

Maybe it just makes people think that things aren't as serious as they think.

Nowadays it's not much different, I used to live in Upstate NY and people had huge bags of mushrooms from the cowfields up there. The problem with that is that not all of the mushrooms are "magic" and some of them just make you sick. Then I started working with this band, and one of the guys had been a mycologist (mushroom expert) in college. He had a mycology degree, textbooks, and everything. Well come to find out, his attic was decked out as a pretty good mycology lab, he grew several pounds of mushrooms every month. At $200 a pound, that's not a bad side operation.

I've only eaten them a few times and don't really care for the "high" you get. I'm not a fan of drugs having never done anything other than smoke a lot of weed in my day and I ate mushrooms a few times. I wouldn't suggest running out and trying them, but they are pretty much harmless and what it does to you is short-lived (a few hours plus a "hangover" the next day), but the experience is interesting.

Here's an article from CBC detailing some mushroom experiments: Mushroom drug creates mystical experience: study
