Good to see you again!
Does to me...I see science as the description of how God did it, not as a philosophical end to things.
No problem with the big bang, unless you think it's a random event...and that is a philosophical pov, not a fact.
The facts may say X happened. The facts can tell you how X happened, and what led up to X happening, but not the why of why the chain of events began in the first place.
Problem comes when one begins to worship the process instead of the Initiator...IMHO....

Agreed.
How was your trip to Boise? (Hold that thought! I have to head for the laundry room. It will be about 90 minutes before I can get back here.)
It's just the technology of bringing something into nothing...big energy load. Makes good sense to me...but I have a different POV and that doesn't interfere with how I see an orderly universe taking place. Lots of explosions take place in nature, like volcanos and stars going supernova. They are important to the structure of how things work.
It looks disorderly, because we look at it from a different scale...but even humans use explosives regularly and in orderly ways, such as in mining and in building implosions, and in other ways, too.
And what looks disorderly to us doesn't necessarily look that way from God's POV, any more than humans using shaped charges to move something does to us.
of course, this is all my own personal philosophizing...Your mileage may vary.
Trip to Boise was good. Every trip there tells me more that I am happy about going there!
Mernin'...
OK...so I lied about the time...I'm done, and that's what counts. It's even "chilly" out ~~ it's only supposed to get up to 69 today, but we have a NW wind that is about 15 MPH so it's probably closer to 40 right now...thermometer says 49.
It's a good feeling when you're excited about a move. I'm happy for you! You'll be in the "sun belt," right?
A late "howdy." Are you getting rained out?
Nope. In fact, the sun is starting to break through. With our 107% humidity, it's G*dd*mn unbearable.
Yep...air you can drink and water you can't...sounds like several places I've been...At least Zon won't have to go through this in her last trimester...
I'm leaning more and more towards Christian/social conservatism - but I don't believe it's government's place to legislate for morality. Abortion is murder, therefore it must be illegal. Smoking marijuana on the other hand is a personal choice, thus the state should butt out.
Anyway, KP, seeya, you'll be missed! :(
Yeah... she was happy that she could open the windows there for a while. I'm betting she has them closed right now and is pissed about it.
Dang... that 'Macromedia download' thing crops up yet again!
We're in the middle of a local "scandal." The republican candidate for governor was in a bar a few weeks ago, and according to him, he "helped to steady" a gal who had had too much to drink.
Well, the gal wants it all to go away, but the media are having a feeding frenzy, and THAT, to me, is the scandal. They will NOT allow it to die a natural death. The Dims are desperate.
I may still email the local news stations and tell them how shameful I think their over-reactions are.
More sun that here, that's for sure, although we're nice and sunny today...and less snow and rain. That sounds mighty good to me right now.
All we got out of the system that went through yesterday was a sprinkling of corn snow, and a bit of rain. Snow about 1/2 way up the mountains, though.
And now I have all wheel drive with my land rover. I am prepared!
Yeah, the Irish Media are the same - they're are always creating 'scandals' against politicians of the mainstream parties, but Gerry Adams could walk on water as far as they are concerned!
Hopefully, it will cool off a little in the next day or two so she can feel comfy. I know what it's like to want fresh air. I don't think I've closed my sliding glass door for more than an hour since I moved in here in August.
WOO-HOO!
You GO, Girl! I think the global warming will be pretty deep this year, myself, so I'm glad you have a Land Rover.
I'm going to see how the noon news handles it, and then I'm going to draft a letter. It's not going to change my vote, for sure.
(Idiots.)
