OK - thanks! I don't feel so good, myself, and I still think it's your fault for talking about not feeling good. ;~)

But we're hangin' out here, and if you're good, we'll just stay.

In honor of the Aggies' winning today, I give you a unique and stirring rendition of the Aggie War Hymn.

Enjoy!

Went on a trail ride here today.

Michigan had it's earliest recorded "measurable" snowfall that day. It stuck to the ground just a few miles north of here. I heard (but didn't see) the last robins the day before. And the juncoes have arrived for the winter.

On another note, I'm working on spooling down the Hobbit Hole knife project, and starting up the Hobbit Hole "gadget and safety" project.

We have about 120 Camillus folding knives yet, and about a dozen sheath knives. I can spring for one last batch of about 20 Camillus BK2s. That will go a long way to meet our commitments. I also have a stash of "unadvertised special" knives.

Once the backlog is cleared up, or abandoned, I hope we can put up a scoreboard listing those few things that I "score" on great sales, which I will still be scanning. First come, first serve, and when the number goes down to zero, no more until I find some more good deals.

One safety and convenience item we can continue to give away is the Grimloc safety carabiner. They cost 80 cents each, and we can mail them via first class mail. I already have 500 small padded mailers that I'm using to mail Camillus 904Ss to stateside USAF folks. This we can keep going indefinitely, and it's more useful than cajun flavoring packets that one company gives away (a nice touch, but I think we've got them beat). I'll have some business cards printed up to go along with the carabiners.

The main function of the "new" Hobbit Hole will be evaluation of safety and convenience items that troops in combat don't have time to research and buy. I'm going to be merciless in my testing and evaluation, and only the best will get the Hobbit Hole "seal of approval". I already bought one set of helmet conversion pads that are so sub-standard that they provide no safety at all, and should be avoided at all cost. I've also found a couple of winners, and a couple of "maybes".

Along the way, I'm learning more about ACH and PASGT helmets than even the troops should know. But it all is through hands-on , or on-head, testing.

So that's what's been happening lately. I hope this meets with your approval, and continued support.

When did it become the 'thing' to wear black to weddings?

Evening wedding....or they're all in the music ensemble.

Winmag, I believe this evaluation project will be even more useful than the knife project was.

The bad helmet pads that should be avoided ... that's news that all charitable agencies can use, and right away!

God bless you.

Well, we're impressed though we must admit, never heard it quite that way when we were at A&M. Thanks for finding it and posting.

What tickles me is the crowd's reaction. When they recognize the Hymn, there's a lot of whooping and hollering ... and then, as the band continues to play, the crowd settles down and listens respectfully.

SOOOO Aggie!

We just came in from the shop.

We've just been putzing.

Putting off what we know must be done. It's gonna be hard. It's gonna be stressful. Once we commence, there's no turning back and my Käfer will never be the same. Hopefully it will be better, but nonetheless...not this way.

We're psyching ourselves up for it. I can feel it emotionally.

I've met a few Aggies over the years. I've noticed they like to tell stories that begin with:

"And there was this one time, I was drinking with my friends at the Chicken..."

in reference to the Dixie Chicken, which is a favorite bar in College Station, I guess. Ive never been.
