So I guess it's wrong to email pictures during a wedding ceremony...

I think the sermon at our wedding was about 45 seconds. The whole ceremony was over in about 3 minutes. :)

They were having a full Mass, I think...so a lot depends on how long the priest goes on in the sermon. ;-)

I don't know what the wedding ceremony rules are for email.

Ours was about 20 minutes, apparently there is a fairly wide latitude in ceremony duration.

Well, we had folks standing on the beach... no chairs. There were fatigue and tidal considerations :~)

Well...is it proper to email from the pew or should you excuse yourself to the lobby first?

Etiquette for the 21st century...

Confusing, isn't it?

Well Sister plays a lot of weddings and she's never heard of anybody emailing from the pews.

I don't know if the Wedding Ceremony Handbook covers it.

Actually don't see any reason not to, it's not like there's flashing lights and beeps coming from the camera phone.

Unless they're doing something really long...I imagine the ceremony is at least almost done.

Wonder if they're going straight to the reception or if they're doing some sort of receiving line deal. My friend did that...my brother's wedding was considerably more informal.

I'd think so, even with a Nuptial Mass format.

I thought they did formal wedding pictures at the church after the ceremony (while everybody else wanders around in the parking lot wondering how to get to the reception) and did the receiving line at the reception.

But I guess protocols vary. :)

Oh...yeah, you're right. They did do that at my brother's wedding. I was one of the ones in the party, so I forgot about the gap.

In our case, the reception hall was right next door, so people went in and gabbed and got seated and all. And the pictures were really quick.
