Police still investigating High Five death
By TIARA M. ELLIS and LAUREN D'AVOLIO / The Dallas Morning News
SACHSE Family members were seeking answers after a 20-year-old Sachse man was found dead in the southbound lanes of Central Expressway at the Dallas High Five interchange early Monday morning.
Dallas police received a call about 12:55 a.m. after a witness driving southbound on Central saw the body and stopped. Dhruv Badhiwalas hands were bound in front of his body and a T-shirt was tied around his face. Authorities found his car parked on the bridge from eastbound Interstate 635 to northbound U.S. 75.
Investigators have not determined if foul play was involved. They are looking at whether Mr. Badhiwala committed suicide but tried to make it appear that he was killed. Police also said someone could have tied Mr. Badhiwalas hands together and thrown him off the bridge.
At the rural Sachse home he shared with more than 25 family members, funeral preparations were being made for Mr. Badhiwala. His uncle, Shamji Badhiwala, drove up from Waco early this morning after hearing about the news.
He described his nephew as a nice young man who loved computers and had a knack for fixing them. He was a junior at University of Texas at Dallas, studying computer science.
He wouldnt have any enemies. He went to school full time. He had a job. He spent most of his time at home, the elder Mr. Badhiwala said, while sitting in a living room of the familys home.
In addition his extended family, Mr. Badhiwala leaves behind his parents, Nagji and Kavita Badhiwala, and his younger sister, Krishna Badhiwala.

Police are investigating whether Badhiwala might have had religious reasons for wanting his death to look like a homicide, Reyes said.

Forget everything I said earlier. This guy decided to off himself while attempting to frame it as a "hate crime". Does that sound about right? That would explain why his car was found idling.

Thanks for the updates, and where did you locate the pic of this poor guy?
Did you notice that he lived with 25 family members in one house? Motive?

Sad about the victim, but what an engineering feat to construct these junctions.
Always impresses me. Thanks for the visual.

Yes Sir, I agree, and watching that interchange being erected over several years was fascinating.

So he tied a t-shirt around his mouth, bound his hands with the electrical cord and jumped? Guess it could be done.

I found his photo on WFAA's website. Strange about the living conditions-perhaps its a cultural thing?

My wife and I drove through that maze a couple of years ago. Came at the end of an eight hour drive from Memphis. I was tired and not expecting the mess at that location. Boy, that woke me up. It's amazing how they built it AND kept traffic moving relatively well. Central Expressway while it was under updating still amazes me how that was done.
