Let's hope he does not get away with it. This is the first time I have seen the bigger picture as far as Nifong and Hawkins go.
He knows her from traffic court. He, the master of the deals.
Maybe off subject but I can't help but wonder how many times a day this kind of stuff goes on all across small town USA.
How many men have lost their savings paying for atty's in cases where they were innocent. Plead guilty and get it over with. That's our justice system.
One of these days there will be internet "lists" for every crime done in America. Only because this is a high profile case is it getting the attention it's getting. Women charge innocent men all too often and the criminal system is used.

What gets me is that the entire DA's office must be rolling over on this. They must see it as Prosecutorial excess but they are staying quiet. Morally they are just as bad a Nifong. If but one of them came forward and went public with what Nofong is doing and saying this would be all over.

I would call her a career criminal because I really don't think DPD makes a game of Pin the Charge on Hawkins.

This proves what I have said all along. If it can happen to the lax players, it can happen to anyone-Elmostafa is the next victim.
Nifong does not use the law for justice. He uses the law to manipulate and destroy. He is dangerous.
Yes, it's a lesser charge, which is why I think this case is on its way to dismissal unless Nifong has a witness. The only witnesses who can implicate Mostafa are the women who were already convicted of the theft three years ago.
It's a lesser charge, but also easier to prove if Nifong can get one of the women already convicted of the theft to say Mostafa drove them there to help them steal and get away or told them to steal the purses. If these are raghead women, which I think they are, I don't see them ratting out a Muslim male unless Nifong has a hammer of some sort over one or both of them. If they don't rat Mostafa out, the case gets dismissed for lack of evidence. As somebody else said, Nifong, bastard that he is, may just be dragging this out to cost Mostafa some money and harrass him.

Look at the effect this has on future potential witnesses for the LAX players - unless you live in New Jersey - you're going to avoid this case !

I cannot get over 127 arrests and the majority of them have been dismissed.

I'm just a law student but am I right in thinking that aiding and abetting requires knowledge that a crime is being committed and consent to the crime being committed?
According to the cabbie he just drove a woman to and from a store and was unaware she had stolen anything. In fact, he assisted the police in finding the woman when they contacted him. I guess this woman could implicate him but how credible is she?

WTVD11 just reported that Elmostafa's court case has been continued because prosecutors have just uncovered a video-tape of him at the scene of the crime.
Prosecutors will not say what is on the tape, but it prompted them to change the charge to aiding and abetting the shoplifting.
WTVD says that this will damage the credibility of Reade's alibi.
WTF...three years later and this video-tape magically appears?
He probably opened the car door for her...
The video tape must show him rubbing his hands together, laughing, and tweaking his moustache like the villain in Dudley Do-Right, as the professional criminal shares her stash with him.
