So Plan A was for Crystial & Co. to extort money from rich Dukies in return for dropping the charges. Didn't work. Now to Plan B...

I agree..something is up. It all comes back to Nifong. Crystal never claimed condoms or date rape drugs; Nifong led everyone on. This woman was badly used. Whether it be the DA's office or the DPD , the "community" is going to hold someone accountable.

Exactly, the chief is not Nifong getting out front and leading the charge, but he also can not undercut his own guys. He did not witness the party nor did he witness how the photo arrays were conducted.

I agree, she was used. But she was using Nifong & Co., too. They were using each other, or so they thought. So maybe both sides will get what they deserve here.

By the end, ie last three paragraphs, of that N&O article on the cabbie's court date packs a punch:

No, she didn't get arrested for making false charges. I also do not think she sued anyone. She collected money through donations of her supporters.

When this whole thing falls apart, I can see "The False One" saying that at some point Nifong came back to her and asked her if her story was true and she broke down and told him the truth that it wasn't. At this point she could say he got really mad and said young lady do you know what this will do to my career. She could then claim he said he would put her in jail if she didn't go along with his plan to carry this scam till November 8th.

Next Nifong will issue a subpoena for the ATM machine manufacturers because surely the rich daddies paid them off to take those time stamped photos (/sarc).

No one is going to believe her. But it is going to be interesting to hear how Nifong spins himself out of all of this of if "The False One" claims he made her follow through with this. How does he prove this didn't happen? Does he show the notes from the meetings that the defense wanted just to save his hide?
