I'm fine with this. All the living victims of the incident should form a line at the statehouse door. I propose a million dollars reparations each. I don't think we'll have to even consider the impact on the state budget.
p.s. the Raleigh News and Observer had a major role in inciting this incident. Are they going to be asked to pay reparations as well?

The N-H omitted that NCCU law professor, Irving Joyner, IS MONITORING THE CASE FOR THE NAACP! Too bad Joyner and the NAACP doesn't give a cr@p about a black line cook getting beat up....

Lawyers haggle over DNA matches
By John Stevenson : The Herald-Sun

DURHAM -- Semen found in the house where three Duke lacrosse players allegedly raped an exotic dancer matches the DNA of two team members, but lawyers disagree about its potential impact on the unfolding case.
The previously undisclosed matches [FALSE! see N&O article from Aprill 11 in following section], one involving indicted rape suspect David Evans and the other involving a player not charged, have been confirmed by several sources close to the case.
According to the sources, semen on a towel was DNA-linked to Evans.
The only previously reported DNA link to Evans involved a fake acrylic fingernail found in a trashcan at the North Buchanan Boulevard house. [FALSE! See N&O article from April 11]

http://www.newsobserver.com/1185/story/427550.html
"They also found no DNA on the woman's clothing or belongings, players' attorneys said. ****The tests found DNA matches to two players, from a towel outside the bathroom and on another object, Cheshire said.****
****One sample was from a player's semen**** and another was a different type of DNA, Cheshire said. He said that was to be expected in a bathroom shared by the three men who lived in the house."

http://www.dailyrecord.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060419/UPDATES01/604190352
[from the April 19,2006 Daily Record] The faculty is involved, too. Irving Joyner, an N.C. Central law professor, is monitoring the case as requested by the state chapter of the NAACP.
"It was important that arrests were made and more that it was explained why (additional) arrests weren't made," said Joyner, who teaches criminal law, civil rights and race and the law. The police report described the alleged victim as saying she was raped by three men.
"I don't think people were necessarily pushing for arrests but were pushing for some show that there is concern."
Joyner was in touch with state NAACP leaders. "My assessment," he said, "was that things are moving forward. We're now on track. And we'll just have to wait and see what happens next."

The point is the publishing of the article that benefits Nodong. Why now? And why seek opinions and commentary from off-the-wall law professors who aren't intimately involved in the case but happened to be professors at Nodong's alma mater and a local, predominantly black university? Exactly........

Decker has said he used the money for a trip to Florida, where he bought a used car.
Do you think that used car could have been a '62 Chev? ;)

What would be "news" to me (and what I would like to know), is if there is semen from another player, why that player was not indicited; and why two players whose semen was not found, were indicted. Right, and can you imagine Nifong in court trying to explain to a jury why DNA on a towel of one of the people that live in the house and someone else that isn't charged means a raped occurred and the 2 who's DNA he doesn't have did it too? The towel is worthless as a piece of evidence.

"Since it is apparent that many of you do not have confidence in me, I intend to reassess the position of my office with respect to representation on the board and to inform you of my decision about whether we will continue to participate within the next two weeks," Nifong wrote.
He hasn't made up his mind? Is that the reason they slammed Cheeks, he needed time to assess the situation?

LOL, On the CTV board you were accused of "sneaking around courthouses" and Tony Soprano of "intimidating" witnesses. I bet if someone in the MSM would have done just what these two did, they wouldn't have said a thing about it. They are just mad that citizens are not taking it anymore and reporting on what the MSM won't.

We've been hearing about the terrible towel for months. Ho-hum.... Do they think we don't have memories? If that silly towel is so important, why isn't Crystal's DNA on it? That's right... The date rape drug eliminated her DNA. Right, Evans cleaned himself up but didn't have any of Crystal's DNA on her. The MSM is pathetic.

Excuse me, but didn't CTV have posters in the court room with blackberries during portions of the Scott Peterson trial?

Over on the Court TV board the moronic AV supporter's have convinced themselves that this "new" evidence has real value for Nifong. They are truly going nuts over there with this non-news. The real question is why is this non-news of the terrible towel being revisited now?
To: pepperhead; Mad-Margaret
During one high profile case they had live threads, updated with reports from CTV posters with blackberries. I think it was Scott Peterson.

Which brings up a question to the group. Which blogs/bbs are being monitored by Nifong and the DPD? Any guesses on who from those offices might be posting?

I think the fact that Court TV posters think this has some value shows us what kind of people they really are. If this towel had Evan's DNA and only his DNA maybe it might be good evidence for the prosecution. If it had his and the other two charged players it would be very good evidence for the prosecution. If it had all the charged and the hookers DNA it would be devastating. I would admit to all that myself. But the fact it has Evan's and a uncharged players DNA and only their DNA makes it worthless. And if Nifong was to introduce it as evidence in a trial it would make his case weaker.
Clearly some posters over a CTV have a disconnection with reality and will just jump on anything to try and prove their point.

Not sure, but we did get someone here the other day trying to defend the MILF Man. So maybe they might be watching here. And if they are I would like to tell Nifong to go F himself.

Update: One of the CTV posters is calling it a "rape towel" now. Wonder if it's made out of the same material as a "rape jacket"...

ROFLMAO! They just make it up as they go along...
