Get up slowly. Turn off the TV. Get a life. ;-)

Just joking. I've got a soft spot for good ole Al.

Doctors should not tell kids they are fat. Most of the kids who are dangerously obese have been made so by parents. Kids do not control what is placed on the table for breakfast and dinner. On the other hand public schools could do some simple things which would help kids keep weight off like schedule exercise and aerobics classes(this would increase the metabolism) in the morning and schedule exercise breaks for kids throughout the day. I have noticed many girls gain weight around puberty. If one of my kids gained a significant amount of weight in a short period of time I would homeschool to insure they were getting enough exercise and eating properly.

I think youngsters would prefer ebing called
"Fatty Boombalatty".

So what do we call kids who smoke?

They should if its true. Sometimes the truth hurts. If the doctor can find a way to get the kid to shape up then he has done that kid a tremendous favor. I really do worry about the health of the younger generations. We didn't have the sheer number of overweight and obese kids when I was growing up. A big part of that was that kids didn't sit inside staring at screens all day long. They played sports, they tromped through the woods, they rode their bikes. The size of some of the seven and eight year olds I see out in mall's today is outrageous and the parents (who often look little better) deserve a lot of the blame.

Sad thing is that things like PE and recess are going out the window at a lot of schools. A real shame and another contributing factor to the tremendous increase in porker children.
