Saturday morning greetings.

I visited Bill Somers' website this morning and found the following account of two dreams about Oregon.

Such dreams challenge my complacent attitude about "the world as we know it."

These are food for thought, sent for your prayerful consideration.

Watching and praying, jm

Thanks.

I think this is timely regardless of what happens Sunday. But it sure seems to be pointing to an authentic warning.

Given the state of numbed-out-ness; willful blind and deafness . . . . and just lazy sleepiness the Church in general and too many in specific are . . .

it might take a series of hard jolt wake-ups to even get folks' attention. Look how quickly even Christians went back to sleep and business as usual after even 9/11.

I had a very unusual dream about Jefferson City, MO, in January 2005, it is somewhat similar.

I don't know WHY I was given the dream I had, nor do I know why Lloyd Day of Salem, OR was given these two, however, as I said, such dreams challenge my complacent attitude about "the world as we know it."

If anyone would like to hear about my dream, FReepmail me.

Agreed.

How few Christians are mindful of the parable of the ten handmaidens, of whom only five kept their lamps filled with oil, trimmed, and burning.

There's plenty to distract us from the Lord's business and from the signs of the times.

It's important to keep focused.

But it sure seems to be pointing to an authentic warning.

Let's come back to reality folks. Since when does a prophecy end with, "If Father's Day ends without anything happening then praise God and return home."? .. Imagine reading that phrase at the end of the Book of Revelation!

Since when does a prophet go on and on, using a variety of scriptures, attempting to justify himself as a prophet? A true prophet is established by being right, time after time, not by a litany of other scriptures. I am a firm believer in God's gifts, but according to 1 Corinthians, every prophecy needs to be judged by others.

I'm curious why this guy didn't notify the local paper. Living in the same city, I'd know it if he did.

It appears that you have never been a "prophet-in-training."

Perhaps we can have a more meaningful dialogue if you return after 10-20 years of being a "prophet-in-training."

It appears that we will escape a quake in Oregon and Wash etc. Praise God for that.

I have no idea if prayers have changed things or if the fellow heard wrong or what. I don't really have an answer. He does NOT come across as a false prophet at all.

It's not the way I think that I'd run things.

But God knows infinitely better than I.

Personally, I'd like to see Him do some demonstration like was in THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL.

But He clearly has other plans.

One thing repeated warnings may do is filter out those who truly TRUST HIM REGARDLESS.

Anyway--enjoy your perspective, if you wish. It's not mine. I'd encourage a different one but a different one does not seem likely to be in your repretoire.

Let's see, where to begin? 19 years ago my pastor and the elders told me " Yes Mike is the one you're supposed to marry" after 16 years of marriage he had and affair, never repented or stopped and I kicked him out. for seven of those years the pastor and the elders told me that G-d told them that I would have a baby. I'm now 48 in menopause, divorced and childless. I stopped listening to so called "prophets" a long time ago. Remember if they're wrong EVEN ONCE we're supposed to kill them.

One thing repeated warnings may do is filter out those who truly TRUST HIM REGARDLESS.

Repeated false warnings are nothing more than lies, and result in faithlesness. The "prophet-in-training" theory is not scriptural, and merely false prophets to continue their foothold in the church. When God speaks to someone, it doesn't take 15 to 20 years for the prophet to 'get it right'. If the quake doesn't happen, then this man is a false prophet. The scriptures are very clear in warning us about false prophets.

I would love to have such a tidy reality as you seem to.

Doesn't fit with Scripture or the facts, from my perspective.

Enjoy it as long as you can.

There are plenty of mysteries, imho.

There's always plenty EXCUSE for faithlessness.

I don't think you have distinguished that often between authentic and false prophets. Even with beginner's there tends to be a different spirit that's fairly detectable if one has sensitivity and discernment--even in writings.

But, if you wish to blackwash one and all who fail to meet your seemingly overly narrow and rigid criteria . . . or if you prefer to wish throwing the baby out with the bath, I'm sure you will.

I have 0.00% doubt that God will have many surprises for all of us in coming months. And, I have no doubt that at some point, He will clear up this muddle-headed prophetic word stuff. I don't understand why He allows all such without fixing it sooner. But I trust that He does all things well.

I know that most of the prophetic people I know try as earnestly as they know to hear accurately from God and relate precisely and only what they've heard. They are not in the least motivated by any contrary heart or spirit motivation. That was clearly evident in this narrative of two dreams. I think most people full of the Love and Word of The Lord can see that.

BTW, how often do you personally participate in applying I or 14 in your local congregation regarding such matters?

And, how many have you stoned to death because they didn't meet your criteria?

I know plenty of horror stories like that.

I don't have tidy answers.

A lot of what you described occurs because of control freak stuff, arrogance, group think etc.

A lot because folks have not gone through extensive wilderness experiences and sufferings that help purify their hearing and speaking.

I don't understand why God doesn't mature prophetic folks faster in this needful era. And I don't understand why even some truly authentic people miss it as often as they do. I can't believe God is pleased with this situation. Yet, He alone has the capacity to clean this area of the Church up. I'm utterly convinced He will. I don't know why He's taking His sweet time about it.

Quoting Lloyd Day:

He wanted me to tell people about this.

WHAT???????

I was trying to maintain a low-key profile on this. I said that I wasn't a prophet and I didn't want to give the impression that I was trying to set myself up as one. Now, all of a sudden, I realize He wants me to warn the people of the Willamette Valley with what He has shown me. My first response was, "You've got to be kidding!"

Then Ezekiel 3:17-21 came to mind.

"Son of man, I have appointed you a watchman to the house of Israel; whenever you hear a word from My mouth, warn them from Me. 18 "When I say to the wicked, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to warn the wicked from his wicked way that he may live, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 "Yet if you have warned the wicked and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered yourself. 20 "Again, when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and I place an obstacle before him, he will die; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require at your hand. 21 "However, if you have warned the righteous man that the righteous should not sin and he does not sin, he shall surely live because he took warning; and you have delivered yourself."

(See also Ezekiel 33:8 & 9).

Talk about being in the hot seat; I am literally trembling in my shoes. If I speak up and nothing happens then I emerge as a false prophet. If I don't speak up and something does happen, then the curse I just quoted in Ezekiel falls on me. I guess I'll just trust in my Heavenly Father and freely share with you what He has shown me.

+* +* +* +* +*
Well, I am glad it didn't come to pass.

And yet, being who I am, I couldn't have read that yesterday morning and then NOT warn folks, btw, including emailing my aunt who lives in Vancouver, WA. She did not write me back, so I don't even know if she got out of town for the day or if she stayed home.

As I said, I'm grateful it didn't come to pass.

And so, I continue on.

I dreamed that folks with so much deep seated and fiesty hostility to religious/spiritual experiences so starkly different from themselves would refrain from pontificating so glaringly on such threads.

BruceysMom, Sorry to hear of the flaky input in your life.

Where are you at now with church? Have you found a healthy church?

Do you have anyone who understands?

Cool, whether it's okay for you to pontificate and me not to, is sort of an equal protection argument that I don't really care to pursue.

If the thread contains the word "Warning", it's going to get views.

If the reaction is hostile to the fact that the warning was only a freakin' dream, sorry.

Continue your pontificating and scaring small children. Sorry I interrupted you.
