A Deep-Sworn Vow
by William Butler Yeats

OTHERS because you did not keep
That deep-sworn vow have been friends of mine;
Yet always when I look death in the face,
When I clamber to the heights of sleep,
Or when I grow excited with wine,
Suddenly I meet your face.

A Poet To His Beloved
by William Butler Yeats

I BRING you with reverent hands
The books of my numberless dreams,
White woman that passion has worn
As the tide wears the dove-grey sands,
And with heart more old than the horn
That is brimmed from the pale fire of time:
White woman with numberless dreams,
I bring you my passionate rhyme.

Road Work

Among the wind twisted cedars
the road weaves between reality
and another oft unseen plane

The traveler ponders down the lane
twisting images, words into what they be
to fit his need of forms and meters

From such dedication one finds leaders
seeking destiny beyond the horizon they see
daring fate and death to voice their pain

It’s the Tao of the road, starting out sane
and finding shelter in habit’s oft sought lee
while walking here among the ancient cedars

I hear them cooing this evening
dusk is gently folding her cape
around them in blackness of night
and this pair of evening doves
remind one another of their bond of love

and nestle in the glen by the rows of ferns
waiting on the moon to play across one another's face
as Venus twinkles in the deep cold reaches of space

I wonder why dragonfly swooped by me today
the sun was warm on my face
as I rested a moment in the garden of the glen
I think, he is reminding me of his love for me...
yes, he would do that... share a silent moment with me
in our private niche in time

Hi bestest girlfriend!

Whoa, I have been busy today. Most of the afternoon at the hair dressers, then when I got home, planted my bedding flowers, a bite to eat and then off to meet with some friends for a bit.

Gorgeous day, sunshine and no rain. WOO HOO

Festivals are great fun. Our city just finished up with theirs, rained the whole weekend. Not fun for partying.

bentfeather,Did you ever have a butterfly kiss you.In our old house I had two rock gardens.I was working in the garden and sat on the bench under the crab apple tree.As I sat there a beautiful butterfly flew by and came to my face. The butterfly stayed and touched my face and kept fluttering around my face.I could feel a soft breeze and then it left .I never forgot that moment.

Wonderful story! That was meant to be! 'Twas a gift to you!

No, I have not been kissed by a butterfly. I am visited by dragonflies.

When something like this happens to people, I believe it comes from a very special place, and for a very special reason. We never know where a blessing is hidden, nor how it will be delivered.

A moment in time never forgotten. ;)
