I hadn't heard of this urban legend before, but hopefully the perp will be sent away for a very long time to a place where he will be able to find out firsthand whether the stories about gang rape in prisons are true. I understand that peeling potatoes in prison is a popular pastime, and so hopefully he will be properly educated as to the official, intended uses of our good friend the Spud, Idaho's Pride.

My brother and I tried this when we were teenagers - put a potato on the end of his 12 ga & fired it on the back patio. Yes, I know, very stupid. We didn't even drill a hole in the potato, just jammed it on the muzzle! It didn't work either - the report was just as loud if not louder, and then we had to clean mashed potato off ourselves, the house, the patio, the gun, everywhere.
