Thanks for the heads-up... With respect to the Clintonites and the Kerry voters, a large percentage of them are on board for tight borders etc. We could write volumes on the damage to this country wrought by the Clinton misadministration, but this letter was meant to focus on the border issue alone.
As far as campaign cash goes, it really doesn't matter how much is spent when your job is on the line. If you're up for reelection, and the voters are angry with you, you change your policy or you're out... and it doesn't matter how many nice-sounding commercials you have going for you. Cash is important, but I think that people are fired up and want real change... guess we'll see this November.
I understand how close we are to rioting in the streets on this issue. This letter, and the intention behind it, is being sent with the hope that if just one senator or congressman gets something from it, it will have made a difference. This is the nature of our republic... the voice of the individual, when combined with millions of others, facilitates change. Sitting around and not making your voice heard, especially when things are out of hand, is tantamount to surrender. If we all just give up, we deserve whatever we get. Such is the history of our nation.
I absolutely agree. Take the White House Fence down. The problem is who is there to organize such a gathering. I am still astounded at the numbers regarding illegals and the speed and cooperation at which it seemed to take place.
The Communist Party and La raza had alot to do with organizing the scumbag illegals. I think there are enough conservative bloggers and other orgs. to stage the march.
Boy, oh boy, do you know how to craft a letter or what? Succinct and to the point! Must have taken many drafts. You are the writer for the American People...
FreeRepublic could do it.
Logistics for many would be a problem if it is limited to DC. The sheer fact that the numbers of illegals within the large cities must have been the greatest benefit to the organizers for the success. We need the same numbers but ---- how do you get people off their butts and in the streets?
Another thought: Maybe put the definition of, AMNESTY, in caps and bold and underline it so it catches the eye, just in case the readers in D.C. forget the meaning. Plus it would reinforce the fact that AMNESTY is utterly ridiculous, and possibly make them cringe upon reading the word...
I contacted the White House since all my congress critters are hopeless liberals and don't give a rats rear end what I nor any of their constituents think.
Free Republic could indeed set it up.
If I am not mistaken FR has already done protesting on this. It is the numbers that we need. We need the general public filtering through the streets stopping traffic and causing as much inconvenience as the illegals--and that is to just be noticed. The press has to pick it up and make it big. Can we get a Dream Act?
We need the House to murder the Senate bills first. Then we pounce.
I am not posting any more on this thread. I do not want to hijack this person's post. Sorry.
It changed things in the House and Senate in 1992... and it changed things with Harriet Miers. Don't underestimate the power of the people... The idiotic voice of political correctness is one of the things that has changed our country for the worse... so if we get off our asses, and march, call, write, and vote, we will change things back the other way.
See post #21.

Thanks for all the feedback!
I'll shorten it up. "Amnesty" will be in large letters centered on the page; I thought that would be a good way to get my point across if that's all that gets read.
I'm sending it to everyone in hopes that some republican will read it, pass it along, or even better hold it up as an example... "Here's this guy all the way up in MAINE, and he cares enough about this issue to write a long letter!"
I wouldn't use words..that Congresscritters and their staffers probably wouldn't understand...
It's all good... I think that the more we can get people thinking about this kind of event, the closer we are to getting it off the ground.
Do you mean like "rational", "law", "Constitution", "secure", "consequences", and ""sacrifice"?
