Now you're just being argumentative.
Let's see some factual, not just rhetorical, response to the specific points that have been raised here.
You're entitled to your own opinion for whatever reason, but you're not entitled to make up facts. Or ignore them, for that matter.

"I responded to your suggestion about ending horse racing by telling you it would be the worst thing you could do to the horses that are nurtured and survive because of it. I'm right, but you don't have to agree. I didn't answer for you, because I think you're a rather juvenile poster who spams the board with feel good nonsense. I answered so that other readers would see that such suggestions are not well thought out." ---

Some day, old dry lady, you will grow out of your limits and also your limited and arrogant perspective.
Please NEVER post to me again. Your self-righteousness and sanctimony is quite a wonder. You must be thrilled with yourself. LOL.
Take care............

Do they eat grass............ get real. You're displaying your ignorance here. The ASPCA and animal cruelty folks spend a lot of time investigating and citing people who believe that horses can survive on grass.
They can't, not without thousands of acres to forage on, and even then many individual horses do not survive.

I was just stating my opinion! Sorry.
Horses were better off before we fabulous humans came along........... got it?

LOL ........ he seems to be doing so very well.
Fingers crossed here, onyx! It will take a very long time for things to work out.
Let's hope we all can have a toast to this lovely animal around Labor Day when he is over most of his physical difficulties.
Thanks for your love of this good animal.

You know what, bts . . .
. . . I defended you earlier because I thought you were getting unfairly beat on.
I think I'm sorry I did. You're being grossly unfair to Hair, who has given you the benefit of her considerable knowledge of horses. And I don't think you've given an adequate response to some of the facts you've been provided with.
And it really isn't right for you to engage in puerile name-calling and ugliness - particularly when others have stepped forward to defend you from the same thing in the past.

Don't worry AAM :~D I'm not phased by this guy a bit. I felt sorry for him too, I was one of those who was pretty hard on him before and I felt bad for hurting his feelings. But he's not as meek and soft as he claims, I've been told in FRMail that he makes it a habit to cling onto, and then harrass other posters, particularly women, always playing the sad sack.
I don't mind being told not to post ~to him~ for a change... it's usually the other way around.

Say good night Mrs. Callabash.
And, by the way, the only ugliness I ever see here is the arrogance of humans toward the ability of animals.
Bye.

Knock off the personal attacks! I will..... if that is what you think I was doing. In fact though......... that woman was the one who began the bad faith. Look back and see.
But I appreciate your request..... and I love and respect this great site.
Have a good day.

You haven't presented any facts to support your opinion.
Nor have you countered the facts on feral herds, genetics, or selective breeding.
If you want to just say that you think horses are sweet and nice, and you love to see them running free, fine.
But don't attack others on that basis.

Hey woman............... I attack NO ONE.
I merely suggested ........... and will continue to suggest that racing horses is FOOLISH.
That is all.
We all love the animals...... this is about Barbaro ...... somehow I think you have forgotten that!

Please........ I'm trying to be nice about this.
All I suggested was that I thought horse racing was not for the horses but for the humans. That is all. Just my opinion
Now let's stop with the dissonance, please.
Good luck for Barbaro's future!!!

Are you getting FRMail from this poster too AAM?
I've gotten two... After he tells me not to post to him!
To: HairOfTheDog
Not yet . . . but I'm sure it won't be long.
Let us return to our muttons . . . should we link that article here about the special shoe the farrier has put on Barbaro's sound foot?
Special Shoe Aids in Barbaro's Recovery
Fascinating. And the veterinary farrier has high praise for the racetrack farrier who was shoeing Barbaro.
I shudder to think what either of those guys must charge for shoeing all round . . . and I used to think our local hoity-toity farrier was pricey at $65!!!!!

Mine's at $65 for normal shoeing... a little more for Bay's pads.
My farrier is a little quirky... he doesn't ever charge the same amount twice. I think he bills based on how flush is bank account is.
