discredited chain letter
Please
pictures like this one remind me of the modern media.
yes, Celine Dion... she was at the top of my list :) /s
And we should be surprised by this? I'm not. There are many in our society today that could be put in the same classification of traitor and they are revered in their jobs. Congressmen, news media and the ACLU for starters.
Here is the break down on what is truthful and what is false from this e-mail (according to a site, whose credibility I can't vouch for):
Jane Fonda was honored by Barbara Walters in her special on ABC by being one of the top 100 most influential women of the century on April 30, 1999. True
The passing of slips of papers to Jane Fonda and subsequent beatings that caused the death of three men is False
The story about LTC Jerry Driscoll is False
The story about Col. Larry Carrigan is False.
The story about the civilian (Michael Benge) is True.

I looked elsewhere too and the FACT that she WAS honored as one of the top 100 women of the 20th century IS TRUE.

This is also forgotten.
You should have clicked on that "snopes" link in post #10.
No requirement in either the Constitution or federal law states that the U.S. must be engaged in a declared war, or any war at all, before charges of treason can be brought against an individual.
You are island of sanity surrounded by waves of hysteria.
I guess most of the time, you can only believe part of what you read or hear with all news stories. Who's to know what's true unless you were there? But there was reliable witnesses and pictures to prove that she WAS a traitor. I got my point across.
it's amazing (and depressing)that this mentality has survived to this day.
What do you want us to do, forgive & forget her? She has not repented.
Please what? Look, I don't like Fonda any more than you do. I'm with you in letting people know why. That letter is full of urban legends, however.
I think it's a hyper legalism that doesn't align with American history to claim that Vietnam was not a war.
LOL. For me, it is irrelevant whether true or false.
I still detest Jane Fonda.
Barbara Walters still makes me want to hurl whenever I hear her voice!

OK
For her - there just ain't no getting around that Anti Aircraft Gun picture taken in VN. That one picture says it all.
