I don't want a pickle.
I just want to ride on my motorcycle...

I think you're on to something. He was funny a long time ago. But he's lost it. He's now a caricature of his former self.

No, it's about a guy who has lost his girl. Everyone thought that Gene Pitney sang this song. Even he was trying to remember when he recorded it, when he heard the song.

Pretty fair list, Pissant.

Imagine is definitely the dumbest protest song ever -never mind the irony of listening to a millionaire singing: "Imagine no possessions...".

But for just plain BAD lyrics, it's really hard to top your #2, Eve of Destruction:

Yeah, my blood’s so mad feels like coagulatin’
I’m sitting here just contemplatin’
I can’t twist the truth, it knows no regulation.
Handful of senators don’t pass legislation.

Yikes. Pass the bong, man, and turn down the radio.

Didn't they also do The Night Chicago Died?

Google says Yes. It sucked too.

Those were dark days when songs like those were hits.

It was along in that period when I switched to country and country rock: Hank Jr., Waylon & Willie, David Allen Coe, Lynyrd Skynyrd, 38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, et al.

We'll always have America's "Horse With No Name" helpfully informing us that "the heat was hot."

Almost non-stop.......I'm...getting....queasy...again...

Anyone even remember AM?

Hell yeah! Amplitude Modulated! The first several cars that I owned only had AM radios.

Hmmm. Never thought of that as a protest song, but I do remember protesting every time it came on the radio. Well, there ain't no one for to give you no shame, I guess.

"For What It's Worth" -- Buffalo Springfield:

Somethin's happenin' here;
What it is ain't exactly clear.
There's a man with a gun over there
Tellin' me I got to beware.

BLECH!

No, not a protest song. Just a general really bad lyric. The heat was hot.

BWAAAAA-HAAAAAA!!

I don't care if it rains or freezes,
Long as I got my plastic Jesus
Hangin' from the dashboard of my car.

LOL!

<< I actually like old Arlo, for some reason. The Spirit of New Orleans is a nice song. >>

Alice's Restaurant -- big thumb's down.

What that town desperately needed was Cartman to clean out Arlo and his hippie buddies.

Townspeople should have tarred and feathered the whole lot of em.

Imagine the most insipid lyrics ever scribbled on paper! Only an academic yo-yo head would think they were worth memorizing.......

Imagine there's no Heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky

Imagine all the people
Living for today
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Who was the guy that did the song "War" in the 60s?

Elaine:
War...huh...yeah
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
War...huh...
