"You...didn't really expect an answer to that very good post did you?"

When I don't get a reply I assume I left them speechless. ;)

George Allen was great on Hannity and Colmes last night....

I thought he was ok. I am getting to the point where I don't trust ANY politician.

I wouldn't say he is not listening to the people, at most I would say that he is listening to too many!

Listening to the people my foot he has adamently said he was against amnesty now he says his proposed amnesty isn't amnesty, what do you call legalizing 12 plus million people? I call it deceptive from start to finish.

Amnesty means no punishment and all is forgiven. Not even the President is proposing sucha thing.

Now I would agree that what he does advocate as punishment doesn't fit my defenition of it but, well, that is for him to live with. I also would state that I do not think W means to legalize all illegals today as citizens. I have seen nothing where he advocates that. Care to share?

Personally I am in the "round em up" crowd myself.

"Time will tell."

Yes, and here is what it will probably tell:

November 2006: Democratic Congress.
January 2007: investigations begin.
Summer 2007: Iraq war funding drastically cut
Fall 2007-Spring 2008: impeachment effort
Summer 2008: conservative independent presidential candidate sweeps the Midwest.
November 2008: President Bill Richardson (D-NM).
Spring 2009: tax increases.
2009-2012: replacement of 2 Supreme Court justices with pro-Roe liberals - Democrats in Senate execute nuclear option as necessary; replacement of election commission supervisors with Democrats; gradual amnesty for illegals, pumping up Democratic voter numbers.
November 2012: Richardson re-elected.
2012-2016: General amnesty; Democrat rolls expand by 8 million. Democratic Party dominance established for at least 40 years.

Now the only way to avoid that is for BorderBot conservatives to compromise on their principles, hold their noses and vote for the Republicans in the Fall.
They might.
I think they won't.

Brownback and Lugar are in the pocket of ADM and Cargill, the agribusiness giants that pull their strings through campaign contributions. Other pro-illegal votes come from those in bed with the meatpackers and carpet/textile makers in the mid-west and south.

McLame...a no-show. I am fed up with butt-munching RINO's. I know what to expect from a democrat.

Rush was trying his best to keep the conservatives from abandoning ship today. One of those Speaker Palosi fright fests.

Either you stand for something or you will fall for anything. It must be principled, or I will sit the next one out.

Amen. Savage said that this is Two-card Monty. It almost appears that besides judicial apppointments and war strategy, almost all else is the same.

Rather than sitting the next one out, vote for conservative Republicans, conservative third party candidates, and most of all withhold your vote from Republicans who won't commit to a fence, no amnesty, and no guest worker program.

Friends, this is our modern-day Alamo. If we don't win on this issue, we have lost the nation and no other issue (abortion, gay marriage, the war against Islam) will mean a thing.

Seriously, is there anyone who can rationally explain why these R's voted like this?

If you start picking the original bill apart, it will degenerate into a food fight.

This bill is crafted in such a way to achieve a majority of votes. There is a little something for the left, the right, and the middle.

If you start cutting out sections you risk losing your majority.

The ultimate goal is to control our borders, so trade offs need to be made.

November 2006: Democratic Congress. January 2007: investigations begin. Summer 2007: Iraq war funding drastically cut Fall 2007-Spring 2008: impeachment effort

Not gonna happen imho.

Summer 2008: conservative independent presidential candidate sweeps the Midwest.

I sure hope so!

November 2008: President Bill Richardson (D-NM).

A guy that cannot even 'remember' if a major league team drafted him or not..much less be honest when called out on it? HARDLY! Hillary has more of a chance than he does!

Spring 2009: tax increases. 2009-2012: replacement of 2 Supreme Court justices with pro-Roe liberals - Democrats in Senate execute nuclear option as necessary; replacement of election commission supervisors with Democrats; gradual amnesty for illegals, pumping up Democratic voter numbers. November 2012: Richardson re-elected. 2012-2016: General amnesty; Democrat rolls expand by 8 million. Democratic Party dominance established for at least 40 years.

Taxes will not be raised anytime soon. Last week should have shown you that. As for the rest....a leftists pipedream that simply isn't gonna happen. Even under their golden boy Clinton, these type things didn't happen. This is sky falling jibberish imho.

Scaring people into voting for pubbies by claiming how bad democrats are is describing the politics of the democratic party today. You can hope that policy works for pubbies but I offer that they need to campaign on and deliver on something besides "vote for me or the big bad dems will be in power and the sky will fall down"

The candidate must rise from these ashes. Time will tell. Things have certainly changed since 2004.

Let me ask you this, because I do not have an answer. Would you vote for Bush in '08 if he could run and was up against Kerry? Bush is not a conservative...or would you sit it out?

Amnesty means no punishment and all is forgiven. Not even the President is proposing sucha thing.

Baloney. Not only is all forgiven but they are rewarded by being allowed to stay here. Suppose someone broke into your house and wouldn't leave and you didn't make them but gave them food stamps, health care and public education and after a while you let them become citizens, vote and get EIC tax refunds. Charge them $2,000 for hundreds of thousands of dollars of benefits ..is that a reward or punishment?

Sure he is just wants to charge then $2,000 for political cover...I can get you 100 million people here in a week for the opportunity just to work in the US and not the right ot become citizens and they will pay far more than $2,000

He deceptively said they won't cut in line but are at the back of the line, when in fact they were never in line and will be able to stand in line inside the US while working and enjoying the benefits we will pay for. What do we tell the hundreds of millions of other people that would like to live in work int the USA but didn't break the law? Tell them that thats not amnesty? Now more will just jump the line as that appears to be the way to do it.

Soft on illegals and we will be overrun..Rome is burning and W is fiddling....How much will this cost us? What limit is placed on how many to legalize? How will these applications be processed, the govt says it would take 200 years at current staffing to process them. How much fraud was there in 1986 how much do you expect now?

Will these people vote conservative or liberal? what benefit is this legalization to the average american? Will amnesty deter others from coming illegally or encourage them?
