When we look at what has happened in Durham, and the political assaults on Tom Delay and Rush Limbaugh under color of authority, average, middle and upper middle class white Americans with a right-of-center or centrist political position and even apolitical middle and upper middle class whites really do need to pay attention to the political bent of those in positions of governmental authority and administrative authority in a jurisdiction and its educational institutions when considering where they are going to live, attend school and so forth.

I believe that there will be a push put forward in these various committees and their reports to make Duke a public university. They want the leftist indoctrinators to take full, not just partial, possession of Duke, and other universities like it.

I think Defense should think, seriously, about having Nifong mentally evaluated.

This case, Nifong says "not until I say so, maybe Spring, Maybe Fall"
_____________________________________________________

1. The defense has no basis to have Nifong evaluated. He would have to behave far worse than he has for such an avenue to be open. They have already asked the court to remove him from the case. That is the best the defense can do.

2. The right to a speedy trial belongs to the accused. The accused can force this to trial on their schedule. Nifong saying next spring was just spouting off again, which may well be another bit of evidence in your theory about his mental health or lack there of.

Have a good trip.

I have asked the same thing: who, besides the voters, can rein Nifong in? The only thing I can come up with is the state bar and/or the attorney general, whom I know nothing of. Maybe some NC freepers will chime in with some info on the AG.

The left began taking control of our most influential institutions some forty years ago - the media and the education system.

I agree 100% with the Rolling Stone writer.

There will be no fairness from a Durham jury. Whites will wiggle out of jury duty because they know it's a poor case and they will fear personal harm from Durham (and rent-a-riot) blacks if they vote to acquit. Blacks will be clamoring to get on the jury so they can convict.

Mangum is an "escort", which is just a euphemism for call-girl, which is a prostitute. Any such woman would present with physical indications of rape. Many even specialize in certain sexual acts that would leave indications of abuse.

Physical conditions consistent with rape are also consistent with consensual sex, rough consensual sex, and acts of prostitution.

I have thought for some time now that the parents of some of these students, depending on individual circumstances surrounding the case, the initial interviewing, the police forays into the dorm rooms and the suspension of McFayden, should initiate suits against Duke post haste.

No, the implication is that had they known she was black, they would have been expected to jump into action and spare no injustice in burning every member of the team to the ground through all police, political and disciplinary means available. They would be expected to take extra special and more severe measures if they had known the alleged victim is a member of the exalted black race.

It's also an illustration of the reason for states to quit using an indicting GJ for threshhold felony cases, except in some rare and very specific kinds of cases. Grand jurors have no understanding of their role anymore, and there's no way to educate the population of potential grand jurors at-large as to what that role is supposed to be.

That time stated in the initial report was not intended to be specific. They have to look to the narrative and the witness statements to refine it.

And he may be able to, considering the victims are white Duke boys and it's happening in Durham.

I didn't get the impression Kendall had any source except the family on the DNA good news for the prosecution thing.

Most initial reports are refined and clarified upon further investigation and statements.

I have continued to wonder about the money discrpancy, and it may be one of the reasons why Durham PD didn't consider Mangum credible. in other words, it may have been one of the elements she changed in her earlier evolving stories given before she finally lit on one version for the time being.

The Seattle paper obviously didn't do their own investigating because they're in seattle. They would have gotten their version from some entity in Durham. it's nothing to get concerned about. Notice there is no indication of direct interviews with either of the witnesses mentioned - Bissey and Roberts.

Fahgetaboutit.

I know your question was to George, but let me butt in and say that no, it wasn't definitive at all.

My answers
First question: Yes, definitely in some people's minds.
Second question: Undoubtedly in the minds of many who feel there are historic grievances, there must be special considerations given to by some to others. And you can never do enough to get out of that debt.
Third question: Because certain groups need victims.
Fourth question: That would be the aim of softies and bleeding hearts to neuter each and every one of us - but no, I refuse to live my life like that.

"Those running scared, PC wimp, university administrators, convicted the coach and players, in public and the press.

Their liability is almost endless."

Well said. This episode tells us that justice through the lens of the PC mindset is no better than lynch mob justice. It is just the thing to set the stage for worse things to come.

Nifong must have went aboard the Mother ship to find ways to keep his case alive. He will look for anything that sticks and if his behavior is consistent with what we have seen, he will create evidence to strengthen his case.

Just as the accuser, Nifong will change his story to suit his case.

How in the world was Nifong reelected?
