because my management was stuck in a needles-eyes-drill meeting all day.

Haven't taken any pics of this weeks' progress in the garden, but here are two fairly recent pics:

On the left is a wide angle of my four beds. The on the right is the newest (and least square - *sigh*). I'm planning on adding another behind them that is long and narrow for trellis crops. It was going to be two trellis beds, but I'll be lucky to get one done. The white bundles are bales of peat that I'll use to stretch out the soil I'll buy.

On the right are my chives that I started the first year. It started out with one sprout and has now been divided into two clumps. This is the first year it has bloomed like that. Love it! The metal grating is a pea fence laid on its side to discourage the canine varmints who think they're vegetarians.

Isn't tonight the finale of "Prison Break?"

Yes, yes, it is. OB and I started watching it about half-way through the season and it is excellent!! It's a continuing story, like "24" only it takes place over weeks, rather than days. Although the major stars are unknowns (to us, at least) the prison warden is played masterfully by Stacy Keatch, an actor we've always enjoyed . LSA

Oh the chives are lovely! When they seed, would you send me some? Those purple flowers get kinda brown and papery and full of tiny black seeds that you can just shake into an envelope or bowl...

I don't know if I have anything to exchange them...even my squash is likely all cross-pollinated.

I was a ~total~ failure on Mother's Day.

I managed to:

- order flowers for the Mrs. and for my Mom
- get and mail cards for my Mom from both boys and me n' the Mrs.
- get and mail cards for both boy's godmothers
- get and mail a card for my aunt (my Mom's oldest sister)
- get corsages for Mrs. and Nana to wear to church (appropriately one red, one white)
- get (and have them sign) cards from the cat and the dog for the Mrs.
- remind Jr. to get his Mother a card (which he did nicely along with a single rose for Mom and for Nana that he brought to brunch)
- make brunch reservations

I managed to forget:

~Cards~ for the Mrs. from me and from Luke. When I bought all the others, the store didn't have ANY for "Happy Mother's Day to my Wife" cards, so I said "I'll go back." I never did.

Luke spent the afternoon saying "how come there was no funny card from me?"

Mrs. was okay with it, but still. I just cain't win.

So, what happens after ~this~ season? Will they run next year with a new set of guys trying to get out?
