Didn't put any fertilizer in with 'em at all...though I've fertilized 'em since, just using the Miracle Gro powder stuff that goes in the watering can. But I used the same stuff on the other plants.

Maybe they don't like being overly fertilized, though? And the pansies like more?

That shouldn't hurt them. Dunno....

That's why I've got all these plants....I always expect a bunch of them to die on me. Oh well, I suppose I could plant along the whole length of the fence.

Heh...I bought two of most plants and planted them together...because I'm afraid at least one of each pair will die.

Which probably means I'll be drowning in tomatoes by the end of July or so...

I'm thinking I may put beans along my back fence. Not the full length...but a few feet, anyway. I love fresh steamed green beans, or raw ones with ranch.

I'm guessing Cisco would like the raw ones, too, though. So...any lower ones might get et.

Okay...got a place for some yellow marigolds.

I ought to be pretty good at digging beds by the time I get all these plants in.

I still have about half a tray of petunias to find a home for.

Just dug a trench by the fence here - the side where there is still some frap in the woods - and planted a packet of climbing plants. Hopefully they do really well and cover up that view. ;-) Should make a nice backdrop to the garden, too...such as it is.

Now I think it's a good time for an iced latte or two...and I just happen to have everything I need to make 'em.

Yeah...but then they might retaliate. Do something like sneaking into my yard while I'm at work and dump horse poo... ;-)

Trying to decide if I'm motivated enough to go to *town* for groceries. Shoulda done it when I was out looking at plants, but I never think of these things. And red meat on the grill would be nice this evening...

I'm not motivated to go out, but I have to. Walgreens is reviewing Nana's medicine list to see which program fits best. And since the deadline is tomorrow.

Plus, Luke needs costume pieces for his program at school on Tuesday, so I have to go out to ~Walmart~.

It never ends.

Glad you got your garden planted! I'll come over and ogle it in a little bit. Gotta hose off sweaty horse gear as soon as I cool off a bit and post some trail ride pictures over in the saddle club.

Did the pony cry a sad story when we left? Does she run and buck at all or just stand mournfully at the corner and call for us? It's kinda sad, when we get back she really wants a hug from the other horses, and they never give it to her. They either snarl at her for being so clingy or just ignore her completely. Poor pony.

I told Hair that if it does really well, I should write a gardening book and get rich. ;-)

I worry that some of the tires with rims won't drain as well as others...so we'll see. The potting soil mixed in will help some.

The pony hollered a bit this time, but didn't seem to be running and bucking as much as she did last time. Mostly she stood at the corner and yelled and shook her head. I talked to her a little, but I think that didn't help. Just made her madder...

Well...I'd hoped the chicken I took out of the freezer would thaw by now, but it hasn't, and I'm almost out of such things anyway. So...off to town quickly. Feel free to check on the garden while I'm out, or just keep an eye out. Don't plan to be out long. ;-)

She needs another pony (preferably a smaller one she can bully) to keep her company when you and the horses are gone.
