The thing about baseball is teams can look good all the way till September and then the bottom can still fall out.
I heard Hugh Hewitt on the radio the other day say that the Indians "own the White Sox" this year.
So I sent him an email, asking him when the Indians last won a World Series.
He replied, "October 2006"
Anybody have a response to Hugh?
Well, let's hope he's right on that count.
Yeah, was he thinking Little League?
1948. So with Boston and Chicago winning the last two years, we're due.
2006 is ours.
Congrats!
The Indians are on top of the AL Central. Maybe after 58 years, this is the year that Cleveland wins the World Series again. After all, now that the Red Sox and White Sox have done it, it's gotta be their turn.
The bad news is that, by October, Major League Baseball will have decided to follow the example of the NCAA and ban all teams from post-season play unless they have names that are more sensitive to feelings of native Americans :)
Such a thing could only happen to Cleveland....
LOL!
I got a buddy who's a Tiggers fan--it's a birth defect. I was just saying to him the other day, there's nothing like Tigers baseball in April, is there? Sort of like Lions football in September.
