He does seem cool and like a really nice guy. I hope he does well.

Regarding dropping letters. Just like making a post when you run out of space the text drops down to the next line. The same for graphics. The preview box isn't as wide as the actual thread. So, sometimes the preview will look different than the final post.

Folks, The moment you get to be parodied by Saturday Night Live, it means your fame has reached a point where you are a star. They only parody famous people like George W. Bush and Dick Cheney. If they find it worth parodying you that means you've hit the big time. I wonder whether they will show the skit on American Idol...the only problem is AI is a family show and the portion about the color of the curtain matching the drapes is sure to make kids ask their parents what the heck it means. Other than that part, the skit is funny.

Yes he's made it! *IF* they show it they will definitely have to edit it! It was hilarious though.

Someone on the main boards who knows him and his friends sent a text message. I'm sure he got the heads up to watch.

I doubt AI will show it. It would give air time a contestant that they don't want having any more air time than necessary. jmo

If it was Hickler they'd show it, then talk to her and maybe even show it again while talking to her.

I agree but it really doesn't matter much now. Taylor will do just fine from here on out. His voice was heard and people want to keep hearing it. Simon may not get Taylor but a whole lot of people do.

Do you have a feel for which song he might do from that short list for Tuesday?

I haven't heard but I was listening to the songs from the Rod Stewart home page and he will sound good on any of those songs.

There is one consolation. Most of the songs are slower, so tht means he will probably not be so energetic, so Simon won't be able to say 'Are you drunk' without sounding foolish.

It's really too bad that Simon can't offer constructive criticism and chooses to be biased.

I agree. When he used to give real criticism (not necessarily "constructive," but at least it was more than "Are you drunk?"), I almost always agreed with him rather than Randy or Paula. My DH used to call Simon "The Truth" as his nickname. But lately Simon is just being nasty. It makes me a little sad, silly as that sounds. He is either trying to pump up his favorites and denigrate the rest now, OR else he has just gotten so sick of the whole thing that he just shows up for the paycheck and doesn't give a rat's behind what he says. Either way, it's unfair to the contestants who are up there attempting to do their best every week.

It isn't silly at all. It is sad. You'd think he would want them to be at their best, yet he offers them nothing to go on. Take Paris for instance. Just how is she to interpret his 'weird' statement? And she's one that he actually likes. Course, maybe he doesn't 'want' her to improve.

If he's tired of the whole thing, why in the heck did he just renew his contract? It makes no sense.

I don't know why he doesn't just go with the flow. Let Taylor and the others do their thing. Then promote the winner. As much as he dislikes Taylor, should Taylor win, he should be able to make money off of him. He should want to have winners that feed into all the different genres of music out there. jmo

That skit is a hoot! More evidence that Taylor is entering the stratosphere of celebrity. AI has never had anything like this, and Simon the Starmaker doesn't know how to handle it.
