Carrie Underwood's Album Goes Triple Platinum Good news! :)
Why send Pickle out there to compete head-to-head in that niche with Carrie?
I don't know. Pickler doesn't have the looks or the talent of Carrie--and Carrie also out-classes the Gherkin, IMO.
I haven't really noticed that Idol is pushing Pickler. She's pushing herself, no doubt, using everything she can think of. But I haven't sensed any secret Idol plot to have her win the competition.
She's a cute, perky blonde and she draws in viewers--both male and female. I don't think her success so far is any more complicated than that.
And if she does win, that's her problem. I won't buy her CD. But I will buy Chris' and maybe Taylor's.

I'm not saying a word about her bod, just her taste in clothes.
She was stunning in that black dress a few weeks ago.
What in the world happened? I almost wonder if she actually wanted out.

'Jesus Take The Wheel' won a Gospel Music Award for Country Recorded Song of the Year. More good news :)
At this rate, the Gherkin will never be able to escape Carrie's shadow.

And she'll probably help The OC--I think their ratings are slipping.I've never watched the show, but if I remember, I'll try to catch the episode Lisa is on.

At this rate, the Gherkin will never be able to escape Carrie's shadow.Nope. In addition to the other good news, think JTTW has been certified double platinum. The album in hanging in there at #15 on the Billboard 200, and #4 on the Billboard Hot Country charts. The song JTTW has dropped off the top of the charts, but they will be sending her 2nd single out to radio stations for adds soon, if they haven't already. The only real challenges left ahead of Carrie in terms of cementing her career are her tour with the big boys this summer, and how her 2nd album does when she puts one out.
Other than that, she's off to a smashing start to her career. Should the Gherkin win, I'd be surprised if she was as well received.

I like Elliot and he seems like a good guy. I'll have to keep an eye out for whatever album he produces.

I've never watched the showMe either, lol. I hate those kinds of shows. I only saw two episodes of Beverly Hills 90210 and that's two hours I'll never get back :)

Should the Gherkin win, I'd be surprised if she was as well received. Me too. I can tell already (unless I'm imagining it) that Seacrest is losing patience with Pickler. Everytime he has to talk with her he seems annoyed. And the heat is getting to her because she had to confront the rumors that she's playing dumb. And how did she do that? By playing dumb again!
"SaLmon--well there's an L in it somewhere."
She's wearing very, very thin.

She's wearing very, very thin. With most adults, yes. I'm not sure about the young girls who do most of the voting. Speaking of young girls, this is kind of funny-cute. (Also smart merchandising.)
American Idol Barbie, complete with stage, mic and amplifier. (When I was a little girl, Barbie didn't have such weird skinny legs.)
