I don't know Becky. They may be given a "rule/policy" sheet when they try out. I wouldn't doubt though that AI has their butts covered well with tons of red tape and paperwork the contestants have to sign after each advancement in the contest.
Not to mention that FANTASIA won, or was it REUBEN?

Oh boy...... I have to admit I always did like LIttle Red Corvette and 1999. But him on AI would be bizarre, wrong and just scary. They don't have to sing his songs do they?

Get the Hindu Love Gods version of the song. HLG's were made up of Warren Zevon, Mike Mills, Peter Buck and Bill Berry (last three of R.E.M. fame). They put out a cover album in 1990 of a bunch of bluesy/rock songs. Great stuff. Only way I can tolerate that song and it's a pretty good rendition.
Love him or hate him, Prince is pretty much a musical genius and a great artist. His range of music is really amazing.
