>>>Just wondering what her politics are. I got the impression she wanted to snub Pres. Bush publicly.>>>
She's actually been a long time republican, but then again, Hollywood has changed her from a Christian singer to a full out floozy. So it's possible she has changed positions (no pun intended) and also 'rebelling' against her authoritative husband, Nick.
She is a ditz whose time will be soon be up.
"Though Jessica Simpson and Britney Spears have both acknowledged past support of President Bush, they are also New York no-shows"
Hmmmmm, Hollyweird getting to her?
Why should I care about Jessica Simpson. She and her parents sold their souls for fame and fortune.
Read the question as written, not as the OP framed it. She would happily meet with him but not as a guest at a party fundraiser. She's separating George W. Bush, U.S. President, from George W. Bush, head of the Republican Party. I think we really run the risk of backlash if we turn this into something it isn't.
Once upon a time ... it was an honor to meet the President of the United States. Except for most of the 1990s, of course.
I've always tried to do so, but I'm not Jessica Simpson, whoever she is.
Just curious... are you by chance from the north Dallas area?
I'm sure the Prez sits up at night and and worries about jessica simpson and the chicks. HA,HA,HA.OHO,HO, HEEE, HA, HAH.
people have been bashing Bush since day one and you are now concerned about backlash?
I am worried that celebrities who have been supportive of the president, overwhelmingly from the south and west and from the country music scene, are going to feel like they're being blackmailed into attending fundraisers. Simpson is walking a fine line here as an advocate for a charity and I don't think she should be punished for making the call to avoid a party fundraiser.
BS.
I'd assume the reason is because the bimbo's English vocabulary consists of two words: "Like these?"
No, why do you ask (just curious)
Cuidado, amigo.
The blond star of the film "The Dukes of Hazzard" still plans to visit Washington on Thursday to lobby members of Congress on behalf of Operation Smile, a non-profit venture offering free plastic surgery for disadvantaged children overseas with facial deformities.
People close to Simpson said she declined a request to appear that same evening at the gala fund-raiser of the National Republican Congressional Committee -- even after she was offered some private face time with Bush -- because Operation Smile is a non-partisan group.
"It just feels wrong," one Simpson insider told Reuters on Wednesday, adding that the actress keeps her political views private. "She would love to meet the president and talk about Operation Smile ... but she can't do it at a fund-raiser for the Republican Party."
No matter what this is not a big deal. The writer did make one mistake in that they described Simpson as a "blonde". Strip her down and stand her on her head and she ain't a blonde.
ME FIRST!!
