I knew this crazy old drunk many years ago that used to have a poem that had a line in it about drinking anything from "Fine Wine to Turpentine".
She was something. The first time I met her, she was making snow angels in the snow outside the bar in her new mink coat.

LMAO! Would have liked to party with her!

I certainly did. For many years. Until she went to AA and stopped being fun.
She was also married 7 times. She told me that she didn't believe in sex outside of marriage - so, she kept getting married.
She was a HOOOOT!

Phi. That's great! (It is the same as greek letter phi its true but its just an 'F' in Russian, the sound is feh)
It's Konfety Vechernii Zvon.
Konfety is Candy
Vechernii Zvon [is like ringing bell sound].
My wife says all Russian candy is great. :)
(But she's never heard of the name, it's from a famous poem, but not a famous candy)
[Gary have you heard of this candy?]

Konfety = confection? Latin origins?
Love the fact that phi is common to both languages (Greek and Russian) and phonetically similar. It's a small world.
It was unusual (the candy). Kind of flat, powdery, with a hint of peanut. We probably just weren't familiar with the type of candy.

Russia inherited a lot from Greek influence.
Knfety/Konfetka (1 candy) certainly seems to come from the same word which confections do.
I don't have my dictionary of experssions here but there are quite a few old old saying about how 'they have everything in greece'.
A TON of the Russian names come from greece as well.

No, I just eat the stuff. You can bet it's chocolate, because Russians are addicted to the stuff.
