Question: Is everyone's output dropping?

It appears that every team's output has taken a noticeable dip. [I picked five teams randomly to check.]

No one pulled the plug, they're still folding normally. Every team's output is down right now.

As should be expected. :)

As for my performance, it's taking a dive, because our energy managers heard about the asinine trick, of shutting off a building's power, at the main breaker, which saves them the time of wandering the hallways, looking for errant lights and AC units left on. We're battling that out right now, trying to convince the green gods, that this REALLY isn't a good idea, for several reasons. Came in to work this morning, and found 32 blown power supplies, of which 27 were on non-folding computers. Had to reset TCP/IP numbers on 147 printers, and coax two ancient Gateway servers back into life, by running vrepair, numberous times. Not to mention, hundreds of users, who couldn't access e-mail, because the DHCP servers were down. Can you spell "pissed off", and a bad monday, all the way around..... Our Maintenance department, is just as pissed off, because they're having to replace 3 compressors, at 2 different sites.

Sounds like that trick won't continue! I wonder who had the brilliant idea?

OUCH - that's gotta hurt.

It sounds like it's time for someone to turn out the energy manager's lights - after all, they don't appear to be the brightest bulbs in the building, LOL.

Sounds like it saved the company a TON of money and time... NOT!

Wow. What a bummer...

Sounds like the folks who won't requisition a new UPS because the old one is only 4 years old and it depreciates in 5 years.

Penny wise and pound foolish applies. Forget the cost of the power supplies, send the muppets a bill for your services at $125 per hour.

You and the maintenance manager need to send the energy manager a bill. Itemize it for material & labor. Have the departments affected by the failures send him a bill for lost productivity caused by the failures.

If he doesn't get the message, next week send the bills to his boss with the note stating that you didn't budget for these failures and insist the the repairs be paid for out of the energy "savings".

The graphs in reply #37 have been updated.

Our daily production has finally ticked up, I contributed a whopping 39 points of it. My other two PCs are still chewing on 2107 and still have days to go.

of shutting off a building's power, at the main breaker

Shutting off a 'puter that way is the worst way they can do it. In addition to the wear and tear on the hardware, there is a strain on the OS. (or at least that's what they taught me when I was taking my A+ classes). Overtime you will have to reinstall the OS earlier due to their "efficient" process.

And from my experience, shutting off the power gives you a pretty good shot at getting the "checksum error" from FAH and having to restart from ground zero. I have had 3 cases of the checksum error causing work loss, two were loss of power and one was a spontaneous reboot.

The latest incident was yesterday when I accidentally pulled the power cable loose. Lost a 2107 project that was 86% done (about 40 hours worth of folding).

You know, I bet everyone's got 2107 or 2106 and that's the point gridlock! I've seen several people here lately with those. I have a Tinker going (unfortunately on a G4) and a smaller Gromacs, but my other two are 2107 and 2106.
