I wouldn't clone Tuffy because he's got too many dang health issues.
My horse dentist just left, he did Bud, Tuffy, Winnie and George. Mina didn't need it.
Tuffy is acting like a FOOL. He is running at breakneck speed in his round pen, bucking and farting like a bugger. Can't believe it's the same horse that couldn't take a step a month ago.
I'm going back and reading your posts, Tuffy is ok but I darn near had him put to sleep, he was in so much pain.
Which ad on agdirect was the one with the weird guy?
I've been AWOL lately due to hanging out on another board arguing/discussing illegal immigration.
Went to a customer appreciation night last night at our feed store. Pizza, cake, coffee and door prizes. One of our vets was one of the speakers, talking about recognizing, preventing and treating colic. Very informative. Then the rep from Purina gave a talk on the different Purina horse feeds, who, what, why and how much. And answered a lot of questions from the audience. Again, very interesting and informative.
Hope you all have a great weekend.
I'd have thought you could have gotten enough of that here! :~D
All of your ferns are ahead of where they'd be here if they are all uncurling... Mine in the yard don't have their curls even visible yet.
That is so bizarre! I think your friend is right though, you don't need to go off on those horse shopping trips by yourself. Even going with just another woman might be chancey. Heck, take some Mace and a handgun!
I am so glad to hear that! It sounds like he's back to being a normal (spoiled) horse that's getting too much food and too little exercise. He deserves it though. He's had some pretty hard times here lately.
Oh, and you may have said and I just missed it, but what are you looking for in a horse? Are you going for any particular discipline, or are you just wanting a good trail horse? You got a particular age/sex in mind or will anything do as long as it fits the other criterion?
Well, remember my fern is in the house next to the humidifier. He's way ahead but he thinks he's in late spring and running late :)
I certainly won't go alone after this last incident.
I think the guy (Owen) with the gray horse for sale is about four or five pages back on AgDirect if you put in quarter horse/gelding/within 300 miles of zip 78884.
I am looking for a quiet gelding, about 14 hands (short enough for me) or so, about 7 to 12 years old, trail horse and preferably a registered quarter.
I am willing to pay a good price.
Glad to hear Tuffy is running around! Farting is also a good sign!
I found the picture and I agree, the picture is more about him than the horse. It looked like a nice horse though, from what little you could see of it.
Can you not e-mail these people and ask them to e-mail you back some more pictures before you go off on a wild goose chase? Or is that not allowed?
tuffy, I'm so glad your horse is doing better:). It is amazing the change, especially since you have basically done nothing:). Sometimes I think we hurt more then we help.
Squarebarb, Good things come to those that wait:).....hang in there, the right horse is out there some where for you:)
I've spent the day with Kristy and JP. She brought her pony up here. I've been telling her what I've been doing with Harley and she said the pony needs it. LOL....I don't know, pony's are so funny, and no more then what JP is going to do with her, I don't know how much good it will do to be elaborate with working with her. But it was something to do. I still need to go out and really work with Harley today, I just ran thru his exercises real quick and Kristy showed me how to work on getting his hindquarters to "disengage".

If I recall, that pony was pretty dang fat last time we saw her. Do you have the old pictures from last year? She's looking portly but better now :~D
I think ponies, especially those who are too little for an adult to ride, benefit greatly from lunging and driving both, for discipline and response to commands. I don't think it's wasted energy :~D
I was looking out at Cyn just now, and we've been feeding her a lot of food since we got her, I think this is the first time I've looked out at her and decided she looked a little too fat.
From the little bit of work we did with her, I don't think she know anything at all. She will probably be very hard for a beginner to learn on her. I'd say is all she has ever had done to her is have kids sit on her and been led around. I don't really know if she'll work for JP. Kristy is hoping to really work with her alot this year so that maybe next year he'll be able to do something with her. We'll just have to wait and see.
Good job on Cyn, We need a picture:). I know she was looking a whole lot better last year then when you first got her.
Becky
Lunging and ground driving would be good for her to learn then... and Kristy looks like a little person, she may be able to get on her a bit for some fine tuning on steering and brakes :~D
I'll be awol most of this weekend. A good friend of mine is back home from Japan for a week, and I've spent the last couple of days entertaining him. Tomorrow we're going out and buying things for his friends back in Japan because he's going back on Monday or Tuesday :-(
That pony does look better. She's lost some of her potbelly.
I'm going to try to get some work done on the Suzuki and some pictures taken of horses this weekend, if the weather cooperates.
Morning:')
