"Crunchy Cons"? I had to re-read the opening twice. At first, I thought it was about a prison's electric chair. LOL.

So let me guess...does this means that there are millions of former Republican voters who will vote Hillary/Boxer in '08?
To: laney
Could be, as the label on those big boys says "Certified Organically Grown" (Calif), or something to that effect. I know the ones from Mexico will make you sick, what with the putrid waste water they use.

I don't see anything conflicting about conservatism, capitalism and organic vegetibles. Have you ever been in a Wild Oats Market? They have beautiful organic foods but they come at a substantial price premium over non-organic foods sold at regular supermarkets. They are a niche market and capitalism seems to be meeting the need quite nicely.

I am half-way there, but stay practical and don't buy organic if it is too much over the standard price.
In my early teens, I read an article on integrated pest management and that spring, spent $70 of very hard earned money to buy four different beneficial insect varieties for our farm's garden.
I know I saw some praying mantis (egg sacks purchased), but of the wasps and other two insects, I don't know what happened.
It would be much more accurate to call me a conservationist than a environmentalist.

We have a few places her in Penna and in Maryland, which are certified organic farms, but it's seasonal produce. During the winter months, I buy CA's best. Nice job, l!

That is the main problem right now, is *Pricing* thier is no reason at all they should hike the prices of organic foods to the consumer...But I am sure there is some little agency out and about that would like to see folks buy unhealthy and get sick...
