I'll give you a dollar if you call Porter a pansy to his face.
It really was not a pretty sight. Then again, most superbowls aren't.
They did not whistel it because they thought NO ONE touched him. Replay proved someone did. Therefore he was down and could not have got up to run. That too would have been overturned.
And if not for Parker's run, the stats for Pittsburgh would have been awful.
It simply allows them to make the safe (non-controversial) call, and if they get it wrong, replay will save their ass.
My ass, it will.
I know, i have been thinking about how to fix it and really cant come up with an answer. I think its broken, not sure how to fix it, some ideas put a couple more refs on the field(but that could be a negative also!), make them full time refs(basketball isnt much better and they have that system), Make MORE calls reviewable(including Down-by-contact) and make {a timeout=a review} meaning you can exchange a timeout for a review(this would mean more reviews but they go to commercial anyhow for a timeout)
You're cool, 'ant. I told you before, nothing wrong with rooting for your team.
Some have a problem admitting they lost. They blame the officials. Seahawks would have gotten beat if no bad calls were made on either side. And there were bad calls made on both sides.
Ooooh, non-scientific, self-selecting internet polls. How impressive.
Has Zogby weighed in yet?
No, that was the blown call - He was clearly not touched when he was on the ground. He was barely touched two steps before hitting the ground. That would be like saying a CB hand-checks a WR at the line of scrimmage and then the WR catches a pass and slips down...(is he down because he had already been touched "prior" to falling down....Of course not...you have to be touched when a knee is on the ground).
And I just can't say enough that Offensive Pass interference call in the end zone was a terrific call. WR continually push off and that shouldn't be allowed. Again, within a few years I think both QB's and WR's will be wearing little pink skirts (if the NFL rule makers have their way).
That wasn't Stevens. That guy actually caught the ball. ;o)
Trophy envy , I think. LOL
By the way, why the punt at midfield with 6 minutes left? The gave up then?
ROFLMAO. It's a tossup for worst drama queen.
Hopefully, for his sake, he doesn't fight like a pansy like Jermaine O'Neill.
Exactly.
Oh, the hawks screwed themselves. Lotsa chances, few conversions. REMATCH in 2007!!!
i would rather lose the Sb than have one like this. Everytime they go to brag about their ring everyone will be like... umm keep it real.
I'm a Pats fan. The officials were awful and made obscene calls. They cost Seattle at least one touchdown.
How the heck do you call a 15 yard penalty for an obviously legal tackle? Answer: Stupidity.
I think a rematch is in order. With an entirely different officiating crew, of course!
See you at the big dance next year, I hope.
