Not quite puppy love for lion cub, mastiff

I hate to pester you, but could you ask if your friends' mastiffs do absolutely nothing all day? I'm kinda worried, had him a few days and does nothing but hold down the sofa. I have to peel his eyelids open just to see if he's in there!

Has he had all his shots, any vet appts pending? They’re big dogs and take a long time to grow.

And hounds and big dogs do tend to be lumps - translated: very mellow. If you put a Jack Russel Terrier next to a Mastiff you’d think they were two different species.

If you have any doubts take him to the vet and ask all the questions you can think of. Dogs sometimes eat strange things and won’t tell.

Finally this fourth night I've got him checking out the land. He knocked me over. Powerful dog.

Mastiff.org says not to run them until they're two years old: their bones and tendons are too soft. That jibes with his his laying about, he must be experiencing some serious growing pains.
