I have always loved German Shepherds. I rescued a female once. She was left at a dumpster with her puppy. She was starved. She only weighed a little more than 20 pounds. Her puppy was taken by someone at the dump, but the dog warden came for her as they thought she was dying. My husband told me about her. I paid them to keep her while I tried to find her a home. I finally got a local doctor (M.D.) who took in strays to find homes, to agree to take her if I would have her spayed and get all her shots. I did and he found her a home right away. He saw her later and said she was so beautiful after they had gotten her up to her normal weight. My husband said we had enough dogs and I could not have her, otherwise I would have kept her.

They are good dogs. I don't know why there is such a prejudice against them. It is some of the owners that ought to be jailed.
