I wish they were making movies like that today. That Goodfellas lost the Oscar for Best Picture to Dances with Wolves and Scorsese lost Best Director to Kevin Costner for the same film is one of the greatest injustices of the Academy Awards.

I guess they should have made Henry Hill's mistress a man, then it would have sweeped the Oscars as the greatest love story of all time.
