You are right. But here's some trivia about Old Hickory:

There are three of those statues, all identical. One in Jackson Square in New Orleans, one on Capital Hill in Nashville, TN, and one in Lafayette Park in Washington DC.

:-)

Why aren't there interstate highways in Alaska?

I mean if they've got a bridge to nowhere, why not an Interstate Highway?

I assume they would be called A1, A2, etc., as Hawaii's are H1 and H2.

Now when I used to listen to Neal Bortz he said that Texas' interstates were nicknamed IH-35, for Interstate Highway 35, for example. Everywhere else in the country, it's I-79, or I-99, or I-10, for example.

Now are Hawaii's called IH-H1 and IH-H2 or just I-H1 and I-H2?

FR is great, say something and there will be evidence, purporting to refute it produced within minutes.

Liberals beware.

Technically, the Glenn Highway and Richardson Highway in Alaska are "unmarked" Interstate highways.

Look at the base of your thumbnails, side by side.

For most folks, the wider, squarer one is on your dominant hand.

Nah, in Texas we call it I35.

Okay, a couple of little-known trivia facts:

The Texas state capitol building is the only state capitol taller than the national capitol.

(I don't know if this one is still true, but it was twenty years ago.) No building on the University of Texas campus or on the state capitol grounds faces north. Nor does any statue. It's been a custom since the Civil War.

Lon Chaney Sr., considered one of the greatest silent actors, became adept at communicating without talking because his parents were deaf.

Charles Lindbergh's father changed the family name to Lindbergh when they emigated to the United States to make it sound more American. If he hadn't, Lindbergh's name would have been Charles Manson.

Rodney Dangerfield's (real name Jacob Cohen) screen name came from an old Jack Benny skit. Jack asked Mary who was coming to a party he was having:
Are the Jimmy Stewarts coming?
No.
How about the Cary Grants?
No.
Spencer Tracy and his wife?
Uh, no.
Well Mary, who IS coming?
Rodney Dangerfield.

Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady, was the voice of the doll "Chatty Cathy."

Curly's real name was Jerome Horowitz. Moe's real name was Moses Horowitz, and Larry's real name was Larry Fineberg.

Robert Clary, who played LeBeau on Hogan's Heroes, was in a Nazi concentration camp when he was a child.

During WWII, Audrey Hepburn was in occupied Holland, and nearly starved to death. She sometimes had to eat tulip bulbs to keep from starving. She carried notes for the resistance in her ballet shoes.

I found this one interesting:

"The average number of people airborne over the US any given hour: 61,000"
