Nudity and sex. Well, it is marginal in each instance, particularly compared to what I often see Hollywood do. The one seen which is REALLY about sex is not over-the-top. On the other hand, I would not say that it is all discrete implied stuff either.

The ending is from desperation. Jack is shown being killed by gay bashers

***SPOILER ALERT*** is your friend. ;-)

Wasn't it great? I can't believe it's not breaking records. I'd go see it again.

I will go see it again. An unexpected delight.

Who needs Terminator or Lethal Weapon or Die Hard

Definitely not enough gayness in those movies. Also not enough gayness in "Under Siege", "Above the Law", "Hard to Kill", "Blackhawk Down", "A Bridge Too Far", and several others I could mention. All kinds of men, but no gayness. What a travesty.

Of course, Ang Lee may actually believe these crazed stereotypes.

Before anyone writes off Ang Lee, please view his excellent Civil War film, Ride with the Devil. No man-lovin' in that one. Lots of action and a good storyline. Also, avoids Political Correctness by being one of the few Civil War films where the Union soldiers are the bad guys.

During this scene of intense passion, the wife of Ennis, sees the longest kiss since the original “Thomas Crown Affair.”

Actually, the longest movie kiss goes to another perv, Paul Reubens (a k a "Pee Wee" Herman") in "Big Top Pee Wee"

You're right. 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' was about the most overhyper movie until 'Brokeback Mountain' came along.

I gotta see this movie. I'm on the edge of my seat to see if the wives wind up with AIDS at the end of the flick.

I guess I was wondering if it was as repulsive as I imagine.

Actually, when we went to see it last week, the 7 and 9 o' clock showing was sold out and we had to go to the ten oclock showing, and even that was so full we didn't have space on either side of us to put our coats.

I guess its been at the top five of gross-per-theater each week since released, so a lot of Americans do want to see it. Maybe not as much as King Kong, but nonetheless, the short list of placing showing it are doing very well.

Anyways, I thought it was pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but it had some real lasting images in it for me.

Oh well, probably too slow posting this anyways.

I think I'm going to go see WALK THE LINE this week. I'm glad you liked KING KONG. They showed the original a few weeks ago like every day on AMC .That was the channel my Mom always had on...she loved watching the old movies :( If I heard one more scream...well...I think I would have screamed. Did Fay Wray have anything else to do in that movie but scream????

If not for a couple of cutie actresses, it would have been a complete waste.

The effete foreign press says this is the best movie ever made, they like Syriana too. I hope 24 wipes the GG out in the ratings.

I saw Walk the Line. I'll be interested in your opinion. I certainly did not expect King Kong to be as wonderful as it was, but I should have, considering Peter Jackson directed it.

Do we really need or want to read or comment on this "film" yet one more time.

It's odd isn't it?

There are so many people who argue so forcefully against anything that carries even the slightest whiff of what they refer to as "the homosexual agenda," yet seem strangely drawn to very vehicles of their disgust.

Is it a compulsion, an obsession, or maybe a deeply repressed attraction driven by their secret private feelings?

It's hard to tell.

Reminds me of a quote.................

"Methinks thou doest protest too much."

Well, it was based on a short story, and from what I have heard it follows the story pretty closely. Ang Lee just put it on the screen.
