Howdy Survivor Fans, well it looks as if Mark Burnett has got some investments in Panamanian stocks and futures, cuz we are back in Panama yet again. Yep, same ‘ol islands, same ‘ol tropical lagoons, same ‘ol clear blue waters, etc.etc.etc. (He must be getting some monstrous kick-backs er, I mean, incentives from the Panamanian Government.) Anyway, we’re back in Panama with an all new season of Survivor so. . .

Here are the Media Whores er, players for Survivor; Panama “Exile Island”

The Older Male Tribe

Name: Bruce Kanegai
Age: 58
Occupation: Karate Instructor & High School Art Teacher
Hometown: Simi Valley, California
Cuz’s initial impression: Bruce is a fifth degree black belt in Karate and an Eagle Scout, as well as being an Art Teacher at the Simi Valley High School. Even though he is the oldest players this season, I would expect him to do well in the challenges and he should make the Jury.

Name: Dan Barry
Age: 52
Occupation: Retired Astronaut
Hometown: South Hadley, Massachusetts
Cuz’s initial impression: Dan was selected by NASA to train at the Johnson Space Center where he qualified as a mission specialist on Space Shuttle flight crews. Dan has logged over 734 hours in space, including four space walks, on three separate space flights. Dan has also received a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University, a Master of Engineering and a Master of Arts degree in electrical engineering/computer science from, as well as a Doctorate in electrical engineering/computer science, from Princeton University and finally, a Doctorate in medicine from the University of Miami. I would hope that Dan would do well, however, for some reason I don’t see him making the Jury. Sorry Dan.

Name: Shane Powers
Age: 35
Occupation: Owner of an Entertainment Marketing Company
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Cuz’s initial impression: Shane is the youngest of the “old farts” and as such could very well be seen as an “outsider”. Having said that, I still expect Shane to make the Jury.

Name: Terry Deitz
Age: 46
Occupation: Airline Pilot, Retired Navy Fighter Pilot
Hometown: Simsbury, Connecticut
Cuz’s initial impression: Anyone that lists Scotch as one of his favorite Adult Beverages is OK in my book. Add to that, Terry is also a graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis Maryland, and anyone who can survive four years at Annapolis, can certainly survive 39 days in Panama. In addition, Terry is a Retired Naval Fighter Pilot. Add it all up, and you have a definite final four contestant. In fact, Terry is my pick to win this season.

The Older Female Tribe

Name:Cirie Fields
Age: 35
Occupation: Registered Nurse
Hometown: Walterboro, South Carolina
Cuz’s initial impression: Cirie doesn’t tell us much in her bio, other than she is an O.R. nurse and that she swims regularly. But my initial gut reaction is, I see Cirie doing well in this show and wouldn’t be at all surprised of she made the final four.

Name: Melinda Hyder
Age: 32
Occupation: Singer
Hometown: Sevierville, Tennessee
Cuz’s initial impression: Melinda is one of those contestants that make me wonder “What in the Hell were the casting producers thinking when they picked her?” I wouldn’t expect her to make it past the first tribal council, much less to the Jury. Of course, having said that, she will probably make the Jury anyway.

Name: Ruth Marie Milliman
Age: 42
Occupation: Director of Retail Leasing
Hometown: Greenville, South Carolina
Cuz’s initial impression: Ruth Marie has “done it all”. From competing in the Miss South Carolina beauty pageant, to being the First Female Narcotics agent with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Agency to being the Director of Retail Leasing for Centennial American Properties in her hometown. However, having said that, I expect her to be another early boot.

Name: Tina Scheer
Age: 45
Occupation: Logging Sports Promoter, Performer, “LumberJill”
Hometown: Hayward, Wisconsin
Cuz’s initial impression: Tina is the owner of the World Champion LumberJills, "Chics with Axes," a traveling group of female lumberjacks. Additionally, Tina was first selected to compete in last seasons Survivor challenge in Guatemala, however, one week before she was scheduled to depart for Guatemala, her only child was killed in an automobile accident. I would hope that Tina could at least make the Jury, but I doubt it. Sorry Tina.

The Younger Male Tribe

Name: Aras Baskauskas
Age: 24
Occupation: Yoga Instructor
Hometown: Santa Monica, California
Cuz’s initial impression: Aras is proudest of “being the only student to have played NCAA Men's Division One basketball on scholarship while at the same time, earning his Masters of Business Administration from UC Irving.” Aras has also played professional basketball (albeit in Lithuania.) Don’t ask me why, but for some reason, I see Aras making the final four, and wouldn’t be surprised if he made it to the final two with Terry.

Name: Austin Carty
Age: 24
Occupation: Author
Hometown: High Point, North Carolina
Cuz’s initial impression: Austin claims to be an “established” author however he only has one published novel under his belt, titled “Somewhere Beyond Here”. (And no, I haven’t read it.) He supplements his income with modeling for print and commercial advertising and has previously worked in retail, as a waiter and as a bartender. Sorry Austin, but one book doesn’t make you an author, and it don’t justify a spot on the Jury. You’re outta here.

Name: Bobby Mason
Age: 32
Occupation: Attorney
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Cuz’s initial impression: Bobby has overcome growing up in South Central LA (where he lost three friends to gunshot wounds). He was admitted to Harvard-Westlake School (the “top college prep schools in the country”). He later went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree cum laude in political science from Amherst College in Massachusetts and later attended Stanford Law School, graduating in 2000. He currently practices law in LA. I expect Bobby to make it to the Jury.

Name: Nick Stanbury
Age: 24
Occupation: Financial Sales
Hometown: Tempe, Arizona
Cuz’s initial impression: Lets see, Nick says he works in Financial Sales and “supplements his income by working at a waiter.” Strike one. Nick says he is most proudest of “assembling the most incredible friends imaginable.” Strike two! Nick says he “wants to be on SURVIVOR so he can travel, learn about himself in a difficult situation and meet smart, beautiful women.” Strike three! Yer out! Sorry Nick but you don’t even make the Jury.

The Younger Female Tribe

Name: Courtney Marit
Age: 31
Occupation: Performance Artist
Hometown: Los Angeles, California
Cuz’s initial impression: Courtney is another one of those contestants that make me wonder “What in the Hell were the casting producers thinking when they picked her?” Just like Melinda above, Courtney will probably make the Jury just to prove the skeptics like me wrong.

Name: Danielle DiLorenzo
Age: 24
Occupation: Medical Sales Representative
Hometown: Pompano Beach, Florida
Cuz’s initial impression: Danielle is very athletic and says her regular workout routine includes kickboxing and soccer, and her favorite hobbies include dancing and traveling. She describes herself as driven, intelligent, vivacious, strong-minded, athletic, genuine and good-hearted. Cuz says she should go far in this game, probably making the final four.

Name: Misty Giles
Age: 24
Occupation: Engineer
Hometown: Dallas, Texas
Cuz’s initial impression: Despite being an engineer at “a premiere advanced technology corporation” in Dallas while at the same time pursuing a master's degree in electrical engineering, Misty, I’m afraid will be an early boot. She does not make the Jury. Sorry Misty.

Name: Sally Schumann
Age: 27
Occupation: Social Worker
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois
Cuz’s initial impression: Despite listing her occupation as “Social Worker” (which was in Buffalo, Minnesota), Sally has moved to Chicago and is currently working as a waitress and bartender. Ah yes, another one who is working her way down the employment ladder. Here is another one who doesn’t make the Jury. Sorry Sally.

Well, there you have it. With only their Bio’s to go on, my picks for this season are:

Pre-Jury boots: (in no particular order) Dan, Ruth Marie, Tina, Austin, Nick, Misty & Sally.

Jury: (again, in no particular order) Bruce, Shane, Melinda, Bobby, Courtney and two of the final four.

The final four: (Please note: So I cannot be accused of playing favorites, I’ve picked one player from each tribe) Terry, Cirie, Aras and Danielle.

My pick for the winner of Survivor; Panama “Exile Island” - Terry Deitz.

Take care,

FReepmail me if you want added to, or removed from the one, the only, Official Survivor Ping List.

No! They didn't give StepheME or Bobby Jon another chance. Of course, the show hasn't started yet, so you never know!

My money is on Terry. Though I do question an F-14 pilot actually choosing Top Gun as their favorite movie!

32 is old? Damnnnn.

BTW, Survivor gets less interesting every season....even with these little twists.

And I find myself asking...why would these seemingly rational people sign up for this crap? I mean, an astronaut? Has he nothing better to do with his time?

Dang, forgot about them profiling the Survivors on CBS's Morning Show today. Hopefully they have the video up on their website.

That being said... Uhh... They've some interesting viewpoints on what makes up older and younger women. It would have been nice to see some actually older women, but with my luck, they'd be a party of Scouts.

Your picks work for me, though I'll pull for the local teacher none the less. But if I was to pick a team to spend the first night on the island, I'd definately be in the old (male) farts camp.

Oh, and you should expand your picks - which one has fire before first immunity, which one has to be basically given it before everyone dies... :)

They wouldn't be able to pick me up off the floor with a crane, let alone compete on Survivor. God bless her. I wish her well.

I think Ruth Marie is actually 49. She looks great for her age, but I doubt we'll see much of her.

Man, you said it. Burnett must be into Panama for something.

ow about a Survivor Denali National Park or a Survivor Patagonia or a Survivor Death Valley? Why not add some cold and real isolation into the misery.

Does this premiere after the Super Bowl?

I humbly stand corrected.
Actually, the SeeBS Webmaster finally updated the website.
Yes, Ruth Marie is in fact 48 years old.

I don't think so. The premiere is Thursday night at 8PM. Isn't the Superbowl in on Sunday night the 5th?

-----Can't wait for the new one to begin! Sally and Misty are adorable but they look too delicate to go far. But I wish them ALL luck!

A "LumberJill"; excellent.

I'd like to see her make to the jury at least.

"Misty Giles" Looks cute and she's an engineer to boot. Too bad her parents gave her a stripper name.

My definition of old and these listed are light years apart, but I've been living in denial since I hit this stage ;-)

After looking at these folks I'm thinking this is actually Survivor - Branson, Missouri. Most look like they are a part of a country singing act.

Between LumberJill and the karate guy, they'll have the whole of Panama clear cut and shelters to rival Bill Gates' mansion.

Add me to the ping list, please.

And you know he's fit. A yoga instructor = nice body.

If he makes it to the final 3, he's a guarantee for winning the immunity, which is usually endurance based.
